When Benue South PDP leaders visited Moro
BENUE, Nigeria – The Benue South PDP Zonal Chairman and the Party Chairmen in the Nine Local Government Area (LGAs) in Benue South Senatorial District, on Sunday, paid a ‘Thank you’ visit to their Senator, Comrade Abba Patrick Moro.
The Chairmen were in the Senator’s Otukpo residence to thank him for the cars he gifted each of them recently and also to commend him for his numerous achievements at the Red Chamber.
Speaking on behalf of the Chairmen, the Zonal Chairman, Hon. Sir Godwin Ewulo, said they returned to thank the Senator for the cars. He said the cars had greatly eased their movements and made their jobs easier.
On infrastructural development by Senator Moro, Hon. Ewulo said the Senator had done more than expected. He mentioned some of the developmental projects executed by the Senator to include the roads across Benue South, Healthcare Centres in Ado and Okpokwu, School buildings across the Senatorial District, rural electrification, drainages, solar-powered street lights, youth and women empowerment, and many others.
The Zonal Chairman commended the Senator for all these projects, which, he said, had direct bearing on the rural populace. He urged the good people of Benue South to remain supportive of Senator Moro to enable him bring more dividends of democracy to the people, stating that the Senator has truly strengthened PDP in Benue South.
In his response, Senator Moro said he was delighted to have the Party Chairmen in his house again and overwhelmed by their thoughtfulness. He said as party men, it was good that they keep meeting to chart the way forward for the growth of PDP and Benue South.
On the procured cars, Senator Moro said when he conceived the idea of getting the cars for the Chairmen, he didn’t see it as extraordinary.
His words, “When I conceived the idea of getting cars for you, I didn’t see it as extraordinary, I only saw it as a contribution of my widow’s mite towards evangelizing the message of PDP. My intention was to make your work easy and to assist you in your movement to canvass for PDP. Right now I’m very happy that you are moving about and doing your work with ease,” he said.
Senator Moro said PDP remained a dominant party in Benue South, Benue State and Nigeria in general. He said the party only lost election in some places in 2019 because of mismanagement of the selection process, which he said would be better managed in 2023, to take the party to its original place at the centre and all levels across the federation.
He prayed God to listen to the prayers of Nigerians and bring back PDP in 2023. He said it was evidently clear that the worst PDP government is better than the best APC government.
The Senator said he was committed to providing for the wellbeing of the people of Benue South and promised the Chairmen that he would continue to do that. He assured his guests that if the interest of the people of Benue South ever comes in conflict with his own personal interest, he would always allow the interest of the people of Benue South to prevail.
He said, in his right judgment and in collaboration with all the chairmen and other stakeholders, he would only do those things that are right for the people at all times.
