NEW YORK, United States – The efforts of Jehovah’s Witnesses in adhering strictly to guidelines from World Health Organisation, (WHO) on management of the Coronavirus pandemic is gaining global acclaim, the latest coming from the Mayor of New York, Mr. Bill De Blasio.
The mayor who was providing update on management of the COVID-19 pandemic in New York City said the state has been focused on vaccination and pushing it to minimize the impact of the pandemic in New York, one of the states most impacted by the virus.
He said that New York City has received help from the public sector, the private sector, community organizations and faith based organization, pointing out that one example remains the Jehovah’s Witnesses.
“I want to correct something I said inaccurately before, because I had been given information but it turned out to be wrong. 1 had wrong information about the Jehovah’s Witnesses community.
“In fact I am really happy to say that the Jehovah’s Witnesses leadership has been very adamant supporting vaccination, in fact the figure, from about 5000 people who work in Jehovah’s Witnesses’ offices, houses of worship around the state, 99 percent are vaccinated.
“So thank you for the leadership, which is tremendously helpful”, he said about the Jehovah’s Witnesses.

The Jehovah’s Witnesses have been in the forefront of the fight against the deadly Coronavirus pandemic. Till date, their public preaching from house to house has been suspended. Their Kingdom Halls, their place of worship have been shut in the last two years, restricting their meetings to the internet as part of efforts to minimize the pandemic and stop members from being infected.
