Coronavirus pandemic surges in Nigeria, kills 1377 in the US

LAGOS, Nigeria – The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control, NCDC has confirmed 711 new cases of Coronavirus pandemic, bringing all time cases in the country to 211, 171.

But out of the 211, 171 total cases, 202,  674 patients have been treated and discharged, while 2, 884 others could not make it alive, leaving Nigeria with 5613 active cases of Coronavirus pandemic, while  2 patients died in the last 24 hours.

There are now 244,073,373 confirmed cases of Coronavirus pandemic worldwide, 4, 954, 951   patients are no more, while 6,835,869,676 doses of Coronavirus vaccines have been administered worldwide based on the latest statistics from the Centre for Systems Science and Engineering, Johns Hopkins University, Maryland.

According to the Centre, the United States remains the most afflicted country, reporting 45,545,593 confirmed cases, while 737,318 patients are no more(100, 777 new and 1377 deaths#) ,  followed by India with 34, 202,202  confirmed cases of Coronavirus and 455,068 deaths (12, 429 new and 356 deaths#)  and Brazil now reporting  21,735,560  all time cases, while 605, 804 patients have perished from the pandemic(5797 new and 160 deaths#).

The United Kingdom remains the 4^th country most hit, reporting  8, 851,104 all time cases, while 139,990 lives have been wasted(36, 369 new and 50 deaths#), followed by Russia which has reported 8, 149,946  all time infections and 227,506 deaths and Turkey which has reported 7, 879, 438  total cases of Coronavirus while 69, 344 lives have been wasted(27, 663 new 232 deaths#).

France continues as the 7^th country worst hit, reporting  7, 228, 331 all time infections, while 118,452 patients have died from the pandemic(1366 new and 47 deaths#), followed by Iran with 5, 868,360 confirmed cases, while 125, 363 patients have passed on and Argentina with 5, 281,585 all time cases and 115, 851 deaths(1227 new and  25 deaths#).

Spain remains the 10^th country most hit, reporting  5,002,217 all time cases since the inception of the pandemic, while 87, 186 patients are no more(4485 new and 54 deaths#) and South Africa with 2, 919,778 confirmed cases, while  88, 934 patients could not make it alive(146 new and  9 deaths#).
