Anambra police arrest suspect with ammunition

ONITSHA, Nigeria – Anambra State Police Command has arrested one Daniel Nebolisa aged 29 at a hideout in Afor Nwafia, Njikoka Local Government Area of the state with catchment of ammunition.
According to a statement by the command spokesperson , DSP Tochukwu Ikenga, police operatives busted a criminal hideout in the area and arrested the suspect with one double barrel locally fabricated pistol, one single barrel locally fabricated pistol, twenty-one live cartridge, five expended cartridges and one AK 47 ammunition all concealed in a bag.
According to him, the suspect is already helping the police with useful information to apprehend other fleeing gang members. Ikenga said the suspect had confessed that he was waiting for other members of his gang at the time of his arrest by the police.
Meanwhile the Commissioner of Police, CP Echeng Eworo had urged Anambra residents to continue in the tempo of providing the Police and the security community with timely and credible crime prevention information.
According to him, timely and adequate intelligent information would assist in curbing crime and criminality in the state. He also enjoined the citizens to remain vigilant and law-abiding. The CP also said the recent feat accomplished by the Command was attributable to credible intelligence information by members of the public
He, however reassured residents of the Command’s avowed commitment to do everything within its powers to maintain public security and safety in the State.
