Anambra CP visits DSS Nnewi , others assures of security
ONITSHA, Nigeria – Anambra State Commissioner of Police, CP Tony Olofu on Monday visited the scene of recent attacks in the State including the DSS Office in Nnewi and the residences of Dr Joe Igbokwe and Mr Chu S. P Okongwu.
He also visited Nnewi area command, Otolo, Nnewi Divison, amongst others, as part of efforts to boost the morale of police personnel towards tackling the new trends of security breaches.
According to a statement released by the spokesman of Anambra State Police Command, DSP Ikenga Tochukwu said the commissioner led a team of senior police officers and tactical squads on a confidence boosting patrol within the state.
Olofu,while condemning the recurring developments of public disturbance and attacks on government facilities and private residences in the state, charged the police to be firm, resolute in resisting and taking the battle to the door-step of the perpetrators of these dastardly acts to bring them to book.
He also reassured Anambra residents of the Command’s avowed commitment to do everything within its powers to maintain public security and safety in the state. He enjoined residents to remain vigilant, law-abiding and assist the police and the security community with timely and credible crime prevention information.
