LAGOS – The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control, NCDC has confirmed 497 new cases of Coronavirus pandemic, bringing all time cases to 173, 908 confirmed cases. But out of the 173, 908 confirmed cases,  164, 994 patients have been treated and discharged, while 2, 149  others could not make it alive, leaving Nigeria with 6765 active cases of Coronavirus.

NCDC: 497 new cases of #COVID19Nigeria; Lagos – 211, Akwa – Ibom 80,  Kwara – 73, Osun – 29,  Oyo – 17, Rivers – 17,  Cross River – 15, Edo – 14, Anambra – 9, Ogun – 8,  Ekiti – 6,  Bayelsa -4,  FCT -4,  Plateau – 4,  Bauchi – 2, Nasarawa – 2, Kaduna – 1, Jigawa – 1:  173, 908 confirmed ; 164, 994 discharged; 2, 149 deaths”, the NCDC has announced.

There are now  197, 682, 958  confirmed cases of Coronavirus pandemic, 4, 215,185 patients have passed  on, while 4, 077, 131, 867  doses of Coronavirus vaccines have been administered worldwide based on the latest statistics from the Centre for Systems Science and Engineering, Johns Hopkins University, Maryland.

According to the centre, the United States remains the most afflicted country, reporting 34, 964, 188 confirmed cases, while 613, 110 lives have perished (149, 263 new and 722 deaths*), followed by India with 31, 613, 993 all time cases, while 423,810 lives have been wasted(41, 649 new and 593 deaths*)  and Brazil which has reported  19, 880, 273  confirmations and 555, 460 deaths(40, 904 new and  963 deaths*)

France remains the 4^th country most hit, 6, 190, 161  confirmed cases, while 112, 054 patients have passed on(23, 570 new and 43 deaths*), followed by Russia with 6, 185, 249  all time cases, while 155, 952 patients are no more(23, 264 new and 772 deaths*) and  the United Kingdom, which has documented 5, 883, 415 all time cases, while 129, 948 lives have passed on(25, 857 new and 71 deaths*).

Turkey has come up as the 7^th country most hit, reporting 5, 704, 713 all time cases and 51, 253 deaths, followed by Argentina with 4, 919, 408 confirmed cases, while 105,586 patients are no more (13, 483 new and 473 deaths*) and Colombia which has reported 4, 776, 291 all time cases, while 120, 432 lives have kicked the bucket (9462 new and 306 deaths*).

Spain has come up as the 10^th country most hit by the virus, reporting 4, 447, 044  total cases, while 81, 486 patients have died and South Africa, which has documented 2, 447, 454 all time cases, while 72, 013 patients could not survive the pandemic(12, 418 new and 334 deaths*).
