LAGOS – The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control, NCDC has confirmed  535 new cases of Coronavirus pandemic, bringing all time cases to 172,  263. But out of the 172, 263 confirmed cases, 164, 886 patients have been treated and discharged, while   2, 139 others could not make it alive, leaving Nigeria with 5238 active cases of Coronavirus pandemic, while 5 patients died in the last 24 hours.

NCDC: 535 new cases of #COVID19Nigeria; Lagos – 219,  Akwa Ibom – 142,  Oyo – 47,  Rivers – 17, Jigawa – 13,  Edo – 13,  Ekiti – 11, Bayelsa – 11, Ondo – 10,  Osun – 9,  Plateau – 8, Ogun – 7, Kaduna – 7, Kano – 5, FCT – 5, Imo – 4,Gombe – 4, Nasarawa – 3: 172, 263 confirmed; 164, 886 discharged; 2, 139 deaths”, the NCDC has announced.

 

There are now 195, 760, 982  confirmed cases of Coronavirus pandemic worldwide,   4, 182, 946 patients have passed on while 3,959, 104, 414 doses of Coronavirus vaccines have been administered worldwide based on the latest statistics from the Centre for Systems Science and Engineering, Johns Hopkins University, Maryland.

According to the centre, the United States remains the most afflicted country, reporting 34, 659, 532 confirmed cases, while 611, 728  patients have died from the virus(69, 813 new and 477 deaths*), followed by India, which has reported 31, 484, 605 confirmations while 422,022 lives have passed on(43, 654 new and  640 deaths*) and Brazil, which has documented 19, 749, 073 all time cases, while 551,835 patients have kicked the bucket(41, 411 new and 1333 deaths*).

France is back in the 4^th spot with 6,116, 711 all time cases, while 111, 923 patients have passed on(27,883 new cases and 41 deaths*) , followed by Russia, which has registered 6, 116, 249 all time cases and 153,620 deaths(21, 870 new and 784 deaths*) and  the United Kingdom, which has documented 5, 797, 269  all time cases and 129, 718 deaths(25, 706 new and 127 deaths*).

Turkey remains the 7^th country most hit, reporting 5, 660, 469 confirmations, while 51, 124 patients have died from the virus(42, 052 new and 127 deaths*), followed by Argentina, which has reported 4, 875, 927 all time cases, while 104, 352 patients are no more(16, 757 new and 247 deaths*) and Colombia, which has reported 4, 747, 775 all time cases, while 119,482 lives have been wasted by the pandemic(11, 426 new and 300 deaths*).

Spain remains the 10^th country most afflicted, reporting 4, 395, 602 confirmed cases, while 81, 396 patients could not survive the pandemic(27, 149 new and 73 deaths*) and South Africa, now 17 in the league of most afflicted countries, reporting 2, 391, 223  all time cases, while 70, 338  patients have died from the pandemic.
