Jacob Zuma settles down in prison

KWAZULU NATAL, South Africa – Former President of South Africa, Mr. Jacob Zuma has arrived at the Estcourt Correctional Service Centre, Kwazulu Natal, South Africa.
Minister of Justice and Correctional Services Centre, Mr. Ronald Lamola who made the disclosure at a press briefing in Kwazulu Natal Province said the former President will serve three months and three weeks, that is a quarter of his sentence on parole if he is of good behavior in the correctional centre.
He said Mr. Zuma will be treated with dignity and is currently in isolation for 14 days and will later be in a dignified cubicle with his personal kitchen and toilet facilities. He said Jacob Zuma has eaten his first breakfast in jail and he is in good spirit.
He called on South Africans not to gloat over Zuma’s imprisonment, adding that while it is right to criticize the judgment, it should however be done in a spirit of fairness.
He said the cabinet is not divided as a result of Jacob Zuma’s incarceration and appealed to South Africans to support the judgment and that nobody is above the law and that Zuma has been imprisoned in line with the constitution.
