Soludo emerges candidate for Obiano’s APGA faction

ONITSHA, Anambra, Nigeria – Former governor of Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) Prof Charles Soludo has emerged as the candidate of Governor Willie Obiano led faction of the All Progressive Grand Alliance(APGA) for November 6th Anambra state governorship election.
Soludo emerge the flag bearer of the party after defeating other three contestants at the faction party primary election held in Awka Anambra state capital. He scored a total of 740 votes out of the 792 votes cast during the election .
Soludo is distantly followed by the Emma Ezenwakwo who scored 41 votes , Damain Okoro with seven votes and ThankGod Ibe scoring four votes. The election was conducted by team of APGA national officers led by Sampson Segun Olalaye .
Meanwhile the Jude Okeke led APGA faction has announced that his group would hold their election on 1st July 2021 at yet to be determine venue. Okeke faction had on Wednesday suspended Soludo from the party for alleged anti-party activities .
Speaking after declaring him winner, Soludo commended the delegates for voting him overwhelming at the election. He said that Anambra is APGA and APGA is Anambra ,urging delegates never to go back to the era of PDP in the state . He promised to leap jump Anambra state greater height if elected the governor.
