LONDON, UK- A book titled “Not Unto Death”, meant to empower, encourage, inspire and motivate people going through life’s challenges and in appreciation for overcoming ill-health has been written and launched by a former top executive of ICAN in the United Kingdom, Mr. David Fadipe.

Last Saturday, the book was launched via zoom, following COVID-19 protocols in the UK on gatherings. Nevertheless,  more than 100 people were in attendance, while order placed for the book exceeded expectations.

The Book

NOT UNTO DEATH, A true Life Story, is a real-life account of experiences of anxiety after diagnosis and going through treatment for Acute Myeloid Leukaemia twice in ten years. Having survived through the special grace of God and the care of the British National Health Service, the author decided to share his experiences during and after treatment, hoping that the book will be a helping hand to those going through life changing illnesses. Not Unto Death highlighted different aspects of not giving up hope either for ailment, seeking for jobs, family matters, educational pursuits or any life’s obstacle we face.

At the launch, were top Nigerian and African personalities, ICAN Executives past and present made presentations. In her remarks, Mrs Ronke Adeagbo, former Chairman ICAN UK District praised the author for his tenacity, hunger and desire to impact on others going through challenges most especially those facing similar ill-health.

Thank you so much for a very inspiring book. I am very encouraged by the contents and structure of the writing in this book, and it will go a long way to help so many others going through similar difficult situations with their health’, said Dr. Benjamin Adeyemi, The Royal Marsden NHS Foundation Trust (RPY).

One of the reviewers of the book, Tunde Omopariola said, “David Fadipe is a survivor, someone who is always grateful regardless of the circumstances. I am happy he is alive to tell his story, to appreciate God’s goodness and to encourage others and give them hope. I believe you will be encouraged to have faith as you read about his journey in this book. The former Chairman of Nigerians in Diaspora and Mentoring Commandant Alistair who also attended the special event commended the desire and strength to pen the book.

In NOT UNTO DEATH, David takes the reader through his journey of fear, anxiety, diagnosis, treatment, and healing. This is a journey that started with complete unbelief that cancer could strike him, through acceptance and exercising faith to overcome great adversities.  At the core of the book is the fact that no matter what we have in life, health is wealth. David shares his experience of how his social network, positive mindset, and faith in the unending grace of God helped him overcome cancer not once but twice!

David is a Chartered Management Accountant by profession. He is the Managing Partner of Enil Consulting, a Management Accountancy firm. He is the Founding Director of Forward Drive Health Limited, a UK based social enterprise company aimed at promoting early diagnosis of blood cancers, raising awareness, and advocating for blood and stem cell donations especially in Africa and among minority ethnic groups living in the United Kingdom.

David Fadipe is a school governor, speaker, and trainer. He has delivered management and accountancy courses to individuals and corporate organisations in England and Nigeria. He co-founded a Christian organisation that was set up to empower young people.

He is active in fundraising for Haematology Cancer Care and the University College Hospital Cancer Fund. David is married and blessed with a daughter. He enjoys playing snooker, reading, and travelling and watching football.
