Buhari reacts to destruction in South East

ABUJA, Nigeria – President Muhammadu Buhari has threatened to deal severely with the bandits who are attacking policemen and burning offices of the Independent National Electoral Commission(INEC) in the South-East, stressing that he will treat them in the language they understand.

President Muhammadu Buhari who was speaking while receiving reports from INEC on destruction of properties in the South East said whoever wants to destroy the systems will soon have the shock of their lives and that he has given them enough time.

“Whoever wants the destruction of the system will soon have the shock of their lives. We’ve given them enough time… we will treat them in the language they understand”, he said.

The President noted that many of those who are misbehaving today are just too young to be aware of the destruction and loss of lives during the Nigerian Civil War.

“Many of those misbehaving today are too young to be aware of the destruction and loss of lives that occurred during the Nigerian Civil War. Those of us in the fields for 30 months, who went through the war, will treat them in the language they understand”, the president vowed.

The President spoke just as the military doubled their heavy presence in the South East in the last two weeks, following attacks by unknown gunmen in the area.
