Okpe Union elects new national executive members

LAGOS, Nigeria – Professor Igho Natufe, a Nigerian-born Sovietologist and a specialist in International Relations and Soviet/ Russian Foreign Policy, has been elected President General of Okpe Union.
The alumnus of the People’s Friendship University, former university professor of Political Science (University of Ghana, Accra, Ghana, 1978-1980, University of Benin, Benin City, Nigeria, 1980-1989 and senior advisor to the Government of Canada (1970-1978, 1989-2011) who ran unopposed, emerged as the President General Saturday evening in Lagos.
The election which took place at Okpe Union Headquarters, Obalende saw the emergence of Engineer Francis Redemi as 1st Deputy President General, Mr. Omamurhomu Ayaruja as 2nd Deputy President General, Dr. Lucky Akpere as 3rd Deputy President General and Mr. Bernard Adibor as 4th Deputy President General.
The members elected Akpederin Kingsley as General Secretary, Madam Patience Ikokoyo as Asst. General Secretary, Mr. Freeborn Adibor (National Organizing Secretary) Comrade Faith Ukpevweru (Asst. Nat. Organising Officer) Mrs. Mercy Ovwile (National Treasurer) Arch. Patrick Redemi (National Financial Secretary)
Other officers elected at the General Assembly were Mrs. Atarhe Abuh (National Publicity Secretary) Erakpotobor Emmanuel (National Legal Adviser) Madam Dinna Erhiurhoro (Nat. Women Coordinator) Comrade Mary Pender (National Youths Coordinator) Mrs. Mary Arejomo Ogunnde (National Director of Welfare) Mr. Roland Ogbatemuru (National Provost) and Mr. Pius Unuayefe (National Traditional Orator)
