Coronavirus claims 4571 lives in Brazil 4157 in India as Nigeria reports 48 cases

IKEJA, Lagos – The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) has confirmed 48 new cases of Coronavirus, bringing all time cases in the country to 166,146.

But out of the 166,146 confirmed cases, 156,529  patients have been treated and discharged, while  2,071 others could not make it alive, leaving Nigeria with 7546 active cases of Coronavirus.

Breakdown of the new cases is as follows, Lagos-22,  Rivers-11,  Enugu-11,  Kaduna-2, FCT-1  and Gombe-1, making a total of 48 new cases.

There are now 168, 093, 701 confirmed cases of Coronavirus worldwide, 3, 493, 246 patients have passed on as a result of the pandemic, while 1, 736, 939, 019 doses of Coronavirus vaccines have been administered worldwide based on the latest statistics from the Centre for Systems Science and Engineering, Johns Hopkins University, Maryland.

According to the centre, the United States remains the most afflicted country, now reporting 33, 187, 296 all time cases, 591, 922 other patients were not lucky to make it alive(27, 706 new and 1070 deaths*), followed by India which has reported 27, 157, 795  all time cases, while 311, 388 patients are no more alive(208, 921 new and 4157 deaths*) and Brazil which has documented 16, 264, 695 all time infections, while 454, 429 patients are no more(143, 939 new and 4571 deaths*).

France remains the 4^th country most affected, reporting 5, 683, 132 all time cases while 109, 184 others  have passed on(12, 646 new and 144 deaths*), followed by Turkey which has reported 5, 212, 123  confirmed cases, while 46,787 others are no more(8738 new and 166 deaths*) and Russia which  has documented 4, 968, 421  all time cases, while 117, 595 patients are already dead as a result of complications from the Coronavirus pandemic(8247 new and 398 deaths*).

The United Kingdom is the 7^th country most afflicted, reporting 4, 486, 164  all time cases, while 128, 010 others are no more(2191 new and 9 deaths*), followed by Italy which has reported 4, 201, 827  all time cases,  while 125,622 patients are already late(3935 new and 121 deaths*) and Germany, which has reported 3, 667, 041 all time infections, while 87, 797 other patients have kicked the bucket(4487 new and 269 deaths*).

Spain is the 10^th country most afflicted, reporting 3, 657, 886   all time cases, while 79, 855  patients are no more alive(5007 new and 54 deaths*) and South Africa which has reported 1, 637, 848  confirmed cases, while 55, 976 patients have lost their lives as a result of the Coronavirus pandemic(102 deaths*).
