LAGOS, Nigeria – The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) has confirmed 31 new cases of Coronavirus pandemic, bringing all time cases in the country to 166,285.
But out of the 166,285 confirmed cases, 156,557 patients have been treated and discharged, while 2,071 others could not make it alive, leaving Nigeria with 7657 active cases of Coronavirus.
Breakdown of the new cases are as follows, Lagos-15, Gombe-5, Akwa Ibom-4, FCT-3, Kaduna-2 and Kwara-2, making a total of 31 new cases of Coronavirus.
“NCDC@NCDC gov 31 new cases of #COVID19Nigeria; Lagos-15, Gombe-5, Akwa Ibom-4, FCT-3, Kaduna-2 and Kwara-2; 166,285 confirmed 156,557 discharged 2,071 deaths”, the NCDC has reported.
There are now 169, 624, 576 confirmed cases of Coronavirus pandemic, 3, 526, 265 patients have passed on, while 1, 836, 625, 725 doses of Coronavirus vaccines have been administered worldwide based on the latest statistics from the Centre for Systems Science and Engineering, Johns Hopkins University, Maryland.
According to the centre, the Untied States of America remains the most afflicted country, now reporting 33, 249, 270 all time cases, while 594, 254 patients have passed on(14,556 new and 409 deaths*), followed by India which has documented 27,729, 247 all time cases while 322,512 patients are no more alive(173, 790 new and 3617 deaths*) and Brazil which has reported 16,391, 930 all time cases, while 459, 045 patients have given up the ghost(49, 768 new and 2371 deaths*).
France has remained the 4th country most afflicted, reporting 5, 719, 877 confirmed cases, while 109, 518 patients have lost their lives to the pandemic(11, 528 new 66 deaths*), followed by Turkey which has registered 5, 235, 978 all time infections while 47, 271 patients are no more alive(7656 new and 137 deaths*) and Russia which has reported 4, 995, 613 all time cases, while 118, 781 lives are no more(9155 and 395 deaths*).
The United Kingdom comes up as the 7th country most afflicted, now reporting 4, 496, 823 all time infections, while 128, 037 patient have died from the pandemic(3241 new and 7 deaths*), followed by Italy which has reported 4, 213, 055 confirmations, while 126, 002 patients have passed out(3348 new and 83 deaths*) and Argentina just making it into the top 10 with 3, 702, 422 registered infections, while 76, 693 patients are already dead.
Germany has come down as the 10th country most afflicted, reporting 3, 684, 660 confirmations, while 88, 379 patients have been killed by the pandemic(4501 new and 123 deaths*) and South Africa still the 20th country most hit with 1, 659,070 all time cases, while 56, 363 patients have given up the ghost(4519 new and 70 deaths*).
