LAGOS, Nigeria – The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control,(NCDC)  has confirmed 89 new cases of Coronavirus, bringing all time cases to 164,000. But out of the 164,000 confirmed cases,  154,270 patients have been treated and discharged, while  2,061 others could not make it alive, leaving Nigeria with 7669 active cases of Coronavirus.

Breakdown of the new cases is as follows, Lagos-19, FCT-15, Adamawa-12, Akwa Ibom-10, Cross River-9, Rivers-6, Ogun-6, Kano-5, Kaduna-4 and Osun-3, making a total of 89 new cases of Coronavirus.

There are now 137, 874, 646 confirmed cases of Coronavirus,  2, 965,572  patients are no more, while 78, 561,783 others have survived the pandemic. The world is now left with 56, 347, 291 active cases of Coronavirus based on the latest statistics from the Centre for Systems Science and Engineering, Johns Hopkins University, Maryland.

According to the centre, the United States remains the most afflicted country, reporting  31, 412,231  all time cases, while 564, 275  others have been killed by the pandemic(86, 378 new and 1008 deaths*), followed by India which has documented 13, 873, 825 all time cases,  172, 085 deaths, while 12, 336,036 patients have recovered, leaving India with 1, 365, 704 active cases of Coronavirus(184, 372 new and 1027 deaths*) and Brazil with 13, 599, 994 all time infections,  358, 425 deaths and 12, 028, 276 active cases of Coronavirus(82,186 new and 3808 deaths*).

France has come up as the 4th country worst hit by the virus, reporting  5, 210, 770 all time cases,  99, 936   patients are already dead,   while 321, 981 others have recovered, leaving France with 4, 788, 853 active cases of Coronavirus(43,517 new and 297 deaths*) and Russia which has registered 4, 613, 646 all time cases,  102, 275 patients are no more, while 4, 242,411 others have been given clean bill of health, leaving Russia with 268, 960  active cases of Coronavirus(8202 new and 393 deaths*) and the United Kingdom which has reported 4, 393,328 all time infections, 127, 407 patients are no more, while 13, 674 others have recovered and therefore discharged, leaving  the UK with 4, 252, 247 active cases of Coronavirus(2531 new and 38 deaths).

Turkey  has come up as the 7th country worst hit by the pandemic, with 4, 025,557 all time infections, 34,734  patients are no more, while 3, 480,146 others have been treated and discharged, leaving Turkey with 510, 677 active cases of Coronavirus(62, 797 new and 279 deaths*), followed by  Italy with 3, 809,193 all time cases, 115, 557 deaths and 3, 178,976  recoveries, leaving Italy with 514, 660 active cases of Coronavirus(16, 160 new and 469 deaths*) and Spain which as reported  3, 387,  022   all time cases, 76, 756 patients are no more, while 150, 376 others have  recovered and therefore discharged, leaving Spain with 3, 160, 070 active cases of Coronavirus(10, 474 new and 131 deaths*) .

Germany is 10th most affected country, reporting 3, 067 672 all time cases, 79, 234 patients are now dead, while 2, 729, 650  patients have recovered, leaving Germany with 258, 788 active cases of Coronavirus(27, 346 new and 310 deaths*) and South Africa which has documented 1,561, 559 cases of the pandemic, 53, 498 patients are no more, while 1, 486,873 others have been treated and discharged, leaving South Africa with  21, 188 active cases of Coronavirus(2446 new and 75 deaths*).
