LAGOS, Nigeria – The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) has confirmed 81 new cases of Coronavirus pandemic in the country, bringing all time cases to 164,993.
But out of the 164,993 confirmed cases, 155,021 patients have been treated and discharged while 2,063 others could not make it alive, leaving Nigeria with 6909 active cases of Coronavirus pandemic.
Breakdown of the new cases is as follows, Lagos-26, Enugu-13, Ogun-8, Rivers-6, Kano-6, Kaduna-5, Plateau-5, Akwa Ibom-4, Delta-3, FCT-3 and Edo-2, making a total of 81 new cases of Coronavirus.
“NCDC @NCDC gov 81 new cases of #COVID19Nigeria; Lagos-26, Enugu-13, Ogun-8, Rivers-6, Kano-6, Kaduna-5, Plateau-5, Akwa Ibom-4, Delta-3, FCT-3 and Edo-2; 164,993 confirmed; 155,021 discharged; 2,063 deaths”, the NCDC has announced.
There are now 149, 036, 692 confirmed cases of Coronavirus worldwide, 3, 141, 143 patients are no more, while 86, 485,444 patients have been treated and discharged. There are now 59, 410, 105 active cases of Coronavirus based on the latest statistics from the Centre for Systems Science and Engineering, Johns Hopkins University, Maryland.
According to the centre, the United States of America remains the most afflicted country, reporting 32, 214, 382 confirmed cases, while 574, 156 patients have been killed by virus(48, 315 new and 840 deaths*), followed by India which has documented 17, 997, 267 confirmed cases 201, 187 lives have been lost to the virus, while 14, 817, 371 others have recovered and subsequently discharged, leaving India with 2, 978, 709 active cases of Coronavirus(360, 960 new and 3293 deaths*) and Brazil which has registered 14, 441,563 confirmed cases, 395, 022 patients have passed on while 12, 835, 480 others are now hale and hearty, leaving Brazil with 1, 211, 061 active cases of Coronavirus(72, 140 new and 3086 deaths*).
France has come up as the 4th country most hit, reporting 5, 626, 942 all time cases, 104, 077 patients are now late, while 343, 111 others have been treated and discharged, leaving France with 5, 179, 754 active cases of Coronavirus(31, 544 new and 315 deaths*) and Turkey which has reported 4, 751, 026 all time infection, 39, 398 patients are already dead, 4, 212, 461 others have recovered and subsequently discharged, leaving Turkey with 499, 167 active cases of Coronavirus(40, 444 new and 341 deaths*) and Russia which has reported 4, 732, 981 all time cases, 107, 547 patients are no more, while 4, 360, 900 others have been given clean bill of health, leaving Russia with 264, 534 active cases of Coronavirus(7729 new and 380 deaths*).
The United Kingdom has come up as the 7th country most afflicted, reporting 4, 427, 428 all time cases, 127,734 lives have been lost, while 14, 575 others have been treated and discharged, leaving the UK with 4, 285, 119 active cases of Coronavirus(2174 new and 29 deaths*) and Italy with 3, 994, 894 confirmed cases, 120, 256 lives are no more, while 3, 431,867 others have been given clean bill of health, leaving Italy with 589, 519 active cases of Coronavirus(13, 382 new and 344 deaths*) and Spain which has reported 3, 504, 799 all time infections, 77, 943 patients are already dead while 150, 376 others have recovered and therefore discharged, leaving Spain with 3, 276, 480 active cases of Coronavirus(8665 new and 88 deaths*).
Germany remains the 10th country worst hit, reporting 3, 351, 014 confirmed cases, 82, 395 patients have lost their lives, while 2, 966, 590 others have been treated and discharged, leaving Germany with 302, 029 active cases of Coronavirus(26, 041 new and 279 deaths*) and South Africa which has registered 1, 577, 200 confirmed cases, 54, 237 patients are already dead, while 1, 502, 986 others have recovered and therefore discharged, leaving South Africa with 19,977 active cases of Coronavirus(880 new*).
