LAGOS – The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control, NCDC has confirmed 65 new cases of Coronavirus pandemic, bringing all time cases to 164,488. But out of the 164,488 confirmed cases, 154,441 patients have been treated and discharged, while 2,061 others could not make it alive, leaving Nigeria with 7986 active cases of Coronavirus.

Breakdown of the new cases is as follows, Lagos-41, Kaduna-6, Kano-3, Rivers-3, Plateau-3, Akwa Ibom-2, Imo-2 ,Oyo-2, Edo-1, Bauchi-1 and Osun-1, making a total of 65 new cases of Coronavirus.

There are now 143, 335, 581 confirmed cases of Coronavirus pandemic worldwide, 3,050, 464 patients have been killed by the pandemic, while 82, 151, 731 others have been treated and discharged.

The world is now left with 58, 133, 386 active cases of Coronavirus based on the latest statistics from the Centre for Systems Science and Engineering, Johns Hopkins University, Maryland.

According to the centre, the United States remains the most afflicted country, now reporting 31, 852, 379 confirmed cases while 569, 311 lives have been wasted by the pandemic(73, 137 new and 1,027 deaths*), followed by India which has reported 15,616, 130 confirmed cases of Coronavirus, 182, 553 lives have been lost while 13, 276, 039 others have recovered, leaving India with 2, 157, 538 active cases of Coronavirus(295, 041 new and 2023 deaths*) and Brazil which has registered 14, 043, 076 confirmations, 378,003 patients have lost their lives, while 12, 427, 457 others have survived, leaving Brazil with 1, 237, 616 active cases of Coronavirus(69, 381 new and 3321 deaths*).

France has come up as the 4^th country most afflicted, reporting 5, 435, 309 confirmed cases, 102, 040 deaths and 332, 640 recoveries, leaving France with 5,000, 629 active cases of Coronavirus(34,016 new and 327 deaths*) and Russia which has confirmed 4, 673, 699 confirmed cases, 104, 937 patients are no more alive, while 4, 303, 376 others have been given clean bill of health, leaving Russia with 265, 386 active cases of Coronavirus(7833 new and 392 deaths*) and Turkey which has documented 4, 446, 591 confirmed cases, 36, 975 patients have lost their lives, while 3, 844, 342 others have survived the pandemic, leaving Turkey with 565, 274 active cases of Coronavirus(61, 967 new and 362 deaths*).

The United Kingdom has come up as the 7^th country most afflicted, reporting 4, 411, 059 confirmed cases, 127, 577 patients are already dead, while 14, 077 others have been treated and discharged, leaving the UK with 4, 269, 505 active cases of Coronavirus(2421 new and 20 deaths*), followed by Italy with 3, 904, 899 confirmed cases, 117, 997 patients are already dead, while 3, 311, 267 others have been treated and discharged, leaving Italy with 475, 635 active cases of Coronavirus(13, 836 new and 364 deaths*) and Spain which has reported 3, 446, 072 confirmed cases of the pandemic, 77, 364 patients are no more, while 150, 376 others have recovered, leaving Spain with 3, 218, 332 active cases of Coronavirus(17, 718 new and 262 deaths*).

Germany remains the 10^th country most hit, now reporting 3, 205, 939 confirmations, 80, 793 patients are already dead, while 2, 834, 610 others are now hale and hearty, leaving Germany with 290, 536 active cases of Coronavirus(22, 988 new and 324 deaths*) and South Africa which has documented 1, 569, 935 all time infections, 53, 940 lives have been lost to the pandemic while 1, 495, 864 others have been treated and discharged, leaving South Africa with 20, 131 active cases of Coronavirus(1569 new and 53 deaths*).
