LAGOS, Nigeria – The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control, NCDC has confirmed 86 new cases of Coronavirus, bringing all time cases in the country to 161,737.   But out of the161,737 confirmed cases, 147,899 patients have been treated and  discharged, while 2,030 others could not make it alive, leaving Nigeria with 11, 808 active cases of Coronavirus.

Breakdown of the new cases is as follows, Lagos-28, Ondo-11, Kano-7, Akwa Ibom-3, Rivers-3 and Kaduna-1, making a total of 86 new cases of Coronavirus.

There are now over 123 million confirmed cases of Coronavirus worldwide. Specifically, there are now 123,064, 083 confirmed cases, 2, 712, 938  patients have been killed by the virus, while 69, 715, 517 others have recovered and therefore discharged. The world is now left with 50, 635, 628 active cases of Coronavirus based on the statistics from the Centre for Systems Science and Engineering, Johns Hopkins University Maryland.

According to the centre, the United States of America remains the most afflicted country globally, reporting 29, 812, 343 confirmed cases of Coronavirus while 542,302 patients have lost their lives to the  pandemic(38,037 new and 564 deaths*), followed by Brazil which has reported 11, 950, 459 confirmed cases, 292, 752 patients have passed on while 10, 483, 080  others have been given clean bill of health, leaving Brazil with 1, 174, 627 active cases of Coronavirus(79, 069 new and 2438 deaths*) and India which has reported 11, 599, 130 confirmed cases of Coronavirus, 159, 755 patients have passed on while 11, 130, 288 others have recovered, leaving India with 309, 087 active cases of Coronavirus(43, 846 new and 197 deaths*).

Russia has come up as the 4th country worst hit by the pandemic, now reporting 4, 407, 031  all time cases,  93, 457   patients are already dead,  while 4, 023, 460  others have recovered,  leaving Russia with 290, 114 active cases of Coronavirus(9215 new and 367 deaths*), followed by  the United Kingdom which has registered 4, 310,171  all time infections, 126, 393 patients have given up the ghost, while 12, 170 others have been treated and discharged, leaving the UK with 4, 171, 608 active cases of Coronavirus(5332 new and 34 deaths*) and France which  has confirmed 4, 277, 786 all time infections, 92, 119 patients  are no more, while 286, 442  others have been treated and discharged, leaving France with 3, 899, 225 active cases of Coronavirus(50, 604 new *).

Italy remains the 7th country  most afflicted by the pandemic, now reporting 3, 376, 376 confirmations, 104,942  patients are no more, while 2, 699, 762 others have been given clean bill of health, leaving Italy with 571, 672  active cases of Coronavirus(20, 045 new and 300 deaths*), followed by Spain which has registered  3, 212,332 all time infections,  72, 910 patients are already dead, while 150, 376 others have recovered and therefore discharged, leaving Spain with 2, 989, 046  active cases of Coronavirus and Turkey which had documented  3, 013, 122  confirmed cases of Coronavirus, 30, 061  patients are no more, while 2, 825, 187 others have been treated and discharged, leaving Turkey with 157,  874 active cases of Coronavirus(20, 158 new and 102 deaths).

Germany   continues  as the 10th country worst hit, reporting 2, 669, 998 confirmed cases, 74, 715 deaths and 2, 419, 448 recoveries, leaving Germany with 175, 834  active cases of Coronavirus(11, 158 new and  58 deaths*) and South Africa(17), which has reported 1, 537, 852  confirmations, 52, 111 deaths and 1, 463,089 others have been treated and discharged, leaving South Africa with 22, 652 active cases of Coronavirus(1051 new and  29 deaths*).
