Nigeria reports 104 new cases as Coronavirus kills 3438 in Brazil

LAGOS, Nigeria – The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control, NCDC has confirmed 104 new cases of Coronavirus in the country, bringing all time cases to 162,593.

But out of the 162,593 total confirmed cases,  150,308 patients have been treated and discharged, while  2,048 others could not make it alive, leaving Nigeria with 10,237 active cases, while 7 patients died in the last 24 hours.

Breakdown of the new cases is as follows, Lagos-48, Enugu-16, Kwara-8, Kaduna-6, Plateau-5, Kano-5, Rivers-4, FCT-4, Ogun-4, Edo-2, Ekiti-1 and Katsina-1, making a total of 104 new cases of Coronavirus.

There are now  over 127, 016, 385 confirmed cases of Coronavirus worldwide,  2, 780, 766 lives have been lost to the virus, while 71, 960, 689 others have recovered and therefore discharged. The world is now left with 52, 274, 930 active cases of Coronavirus based on the latest update from the Centre for Systems Science and Engineering, Johns Hopkins University, Maryland.

According to the centre, the United States remains the most afflicted country, now reporting 30, 254, 490  confirmed cases, while 549, 289 others have passed on(46, 112 new and 524 deaths*), followed by Brazil which has documented 12, 490, 362 confirmed cases,  310, 550 patients are no more while 10, 948, 382 others have been treated and discharged, leaving Brazil with 1, 231, 430 active cases of Coronavirus (85,948 new and 3438 deaths*)and India which has reported 11, 971, 624 confirmed cases, 161, 552  patients are no more, while 11, 323,762 others have recovered and therefore discharged, leaving India with 486, 310 active cases of Coronavirus(62, 714 new and 312 deaths*).

France has come up as the 4th country worst afflicted with 4, 606,185  confirmed cases, 94, 754 patients have been killed by the virus, while 296, 581 others have survived the pandemic, leaving France with 4, 214, 850 active cases of Coronavirus(37,021 new and 131 deaths*), followed by Russia which has reported 4, 469, 327 confirmations, 96, 123 deaths and 4, 092, 015 recoveries, leaving Russia with 281, 189 active cases of Coronavirus(8979 new and 331 deaths*) and  the United Kingdom which has documented 4, 347, 010 confirmed cases, 126,832 patients are no more, while 12, 713  others have recovered, leaving the UK with 4, 207, 465 active cases of Coronavirus(3944 new and 19 deaths*).

Italy currently stands as the 7th country worst hit with 3, 532, 057  total cases, 107, 933 deaths and 2, 850, 889 recoveries, leaving Italy with 573, 235 active cases of Coronavirus(19,604 new 297 deaths*)  and  Spain, which has documented 3, 255,324  total cases, 75, 010  patients have been killed by the virus, while 150, 376 others have survived the pandemic, leaving Spain with 3, 029, 938 active cases of Coronavirus and Turkey which has reported 3, 208, 173 confirmed cases, 31, 076 patients have lost their lives, while 2, 957, 093 others have been given clean bill of health, leaving Turkey with 220,004 active cases of Coronavirus(29,058 new and 1153 deaths*).

Germany  has come up as the 10th country most afflicted, with 2, 784,644 all time cases, 75, 927 patients  are no more, while 2, 489, 786 patients have recovered and therefore discharged, leaving Germany with 218, 931 active cases of Coronavirus(13, 950 new and 69 deaths*) and South Africa which has reported 1, 545, 431 all time infections, 52, 648 patients have kicked the bucket while 1, 471,899 others have been treated and discharged, leaving South Africa with  20, 884 active cases of Coronavirus(965 new*).
