MOSCOW, Russia – In their determined efforts to frustrate and dampen the zeal of members of the Jehovah’s Witnesses, Russian authorities have launched investigation into activities of five members of the organization for organizing and making converts while in prison.
The Russians where infuriated that the Jehovah’s Witnesses in Syktyvkar, the Republic of Komi organized their cell and made new converts while in prison.
“Investigators believe the defendants organized the cell of the banned organization in Russia’s Syktyvkar, the Republic of Komi, held group gatherings and recruited new members to it” Rapsi reported.
According to the Russian agency, one defendant is in detention, two others are under house arrest and two more were released on travel restrictions, the Russian legal information reported.
In April 2017, the Supreme Court of Russia ordered liquidation of Jehovah’s Witnesses organisation including all its 395 local branches. In August, the Administrative Centre of Jehovah’s Witnesses was added to the list of banned organizations.
Since 2009, 95 materials distributed free of charge by the Jehovah’s Witnesses including the Holy Bible have been declared extremist and 8 Jehovah’s Witnesses’ branches have been liquidated, according to the Justice Ministry.
Jehovah’s Witnesses is a peaceful religious organization based in Brooklyn, New York. Since 2004 several branches and chapters of the organization were banned and shut down in various regions of Russia in deliberate policy by the Vladimir Putin regime to obliterate Jehovah’s Witnesses. Putin is not the only leader to have carried out deliberate policy to wipe out Jehovah’s Witnesses.
The late German leader, Adolf Hitler orchestrated the worst form of attack on Jehovah’s Witnesses when members were just a few hundreds. But today Hitler is no more while Jehovah’s Witnesses have numbered into millions. Jehovah’s Witnesses have said consistently that Putin will fail the way Adolph Hitler failed.
