IKEJA, Lagos – The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control, NCDC has confirmed 195 new cases of the Coronavirus pandemic, the lowest for a very long time, bringing all time cases in the country to 158,237. But out of the 158,237 all time cases, 137,645 patients have been treated and discharged, while 1,964 others could not make it alive, leaving Nigeria with 18, 628 active cases of Coronavirus, while 10 patients died in the last 24 hours.
Breakdown of the new cases is as follows, Lagos-70, Kaduna-22, Abia-20, Edo-18, Kano-10, Akwa Ibom-9, Rivers-7, FCT-7, Borno-6, Bauchi-5, Osun-5, Oyo-5, Plateau-3, Ekiti-3, Niger-2, Ogun-2 and Zamfara-1, making a total of 195 new cases of Coronavirus.

There are now 116, 365,434 confirmed cases of Coronavirus worldwide, 2, 584, 703 patients have passed on while 65, 779, 824 others have been treated and discharged. The world is now left with 48,000, 907 active cases of Coronavirus based on the latest statistics from the Centre for Systems Science and Engineering, Johns Hopkins University, Maryland.
According to the centre, the United States remains the most afflicted country, now reporting 28, 938, 762 confirmed cases of Coronavirus while 524, 066 patients have been killed by the virus(53, 520 new and 1741 deaths*), followed by India which has recorded 11, 192, 045 all time cases, 157, 656 patients are no more, while 10, 854, 126 patients have recovered and therefore discharged, leaving India with 180, 263 active cases of Coronavirus(18,284 new and 108 deaths*) and Brazil which has registered 10, 869, 227 confirmed cases of Coronavirus, 262, 770 deaths, while 9, 667, 137 others have been given clean bill of health, leaving Brazil with 939, 320 active cases of Coronavirus(1800 deaths*).
Russia remains the 4th country worst hit, reporting 4, 263, 785 confirmations, 87, 253 patients are no more, while 3, 856,400 others have been treated and discharged, leaving Russia with 320, 132 active cases of Coronavirus(10, 909 new and 432 deaths*), followed by the United Kingdom which has reported 4, 225,901 confirmed cases, 124, 653 patients have passed on, while 11, 836 patients are now hale and hearty, leaving the UK with 4, 089, 412 active cases of Coronavirus(6120 new and 158 deaths*) and France with 3, 942, 243 registered cases of Coronavirus, 88, 597 patients have kicked the bucket, while 271, 693 patients have recovered and therefore discharged, leaving France with 3, 581, 953 active cases of Coronavirus(23, 846 new and 185 deaths*).
Spain remains the 7th country worst hit by the virus, reporting 3, 149, 012 all time infections, 71, 138 deaths and 150, 376 recoveries, leaving Spain with 2, 927, 498 active cases of Coronavirus and Italy which has reported 3, 046, 762 all time infections, 99, 578 patients have passed on while 2, 481,372 others have been given clean bill of health, leaving Italy with 465, 812 active cases of Coronavirus(23, 633 new and 307 deaths*) and Turkey which has documented 2, 769, 230 confirmations, 28, 965 deaths and 2, 616, 139 recoveries, leaving Turkey with 124, 126 active cases of Coronavirus(11, 770 new and 64 deaths*).
Germany remains the 10th country worst hit, reporting 2, 502,057 all time infections, 71, 899 patients are no more while 2, 303, 837 patients have recovered, leaving Germany with 126, 321 active cases(8170 new and 206 deaths*) and South Africa, still the 16th most affected country with 1, 520, 206 all time cases, 50, 647 patients are already dead, while 1, 439,515 patients have recovered, leaving South Africa with 30, 044 active cases of Coronavirus(1227 new and 81 deaths*) .
