IKEJA, Lagos – The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control, NCDC has confirmed 240 new cases of Coronavirus, the lowest since the second wave of the pandemic, bringing all time cases in the country to 155,657. But out of the 155,657 all time cases,  133,768 patients have been treated and discharged, while 1,907  others could not make it alive, leaving Nigeria with 19, 982 active cases, while 2 patients died in the last 24 hours#COVID19Nigeria.

Breakdown of the new cases is as follows, Anambra-85, Lagos-82, Osun-17, Ogun-10, Kwara-9, FCT-8, Kano-7, Abia-6, Borno-4, Edo-2, Bayelsa-2, Kaduna-2 and Rivers-1, making a total of 240 new cases of Coronavirus.

There are now 113, 986, 374 confirmed cases of Coronavirus worldwide, 2, 528, 993 patients have passed on while 64, 379, 512 others have been treated and discharged. The world is now left with 47, 077, 869 active cases of Coronavirus based on the latest statistics from the Centre for Systems Science and Engineering, Johns Hopkins University, Maryland.

According to the centre, the United States remains the most afflicted country, reporting 28, 594, 583 confirmed cases, while 513, 052 others have passed on(54, 183 new and 1265 deaths*), followed by India with 11, 096, 731 all time cases of Coronavirus,  157, 051 patients have passed on while 10, 775, 169 others have recovered and therefore discharged, leaving India with 164, 511 active cases of Coronavirus(16, 752 new and 113 deaths*) and Brazil with 10, 517, 232 confirmations,  254, 221 patients are no more, while 9, 382, 316 others have been given clean bill of health, leaving Brazil with 880, 695 active cases of Coronavirus(61, 602 new and 1386 deaths*).

Russia has come up as the 4th country worst hit, now reporting  4, 198, 400 all time cases, 84, 700 patients are already dead, while 3, 769, 025 others have recovered and therefore discharged, leaving Russia with 344, 675 active cases of Coronavirus(11, 234 new and 370 deaths*), followed by the United Kingdom which has reported 4, 188, 823 confirmed cases,  123, 083 patients  are no more, while 11, 608 others have been assisted to overcome the pandemic, leaving the UK with 4, 054, 132 active cases of Coronavirus(6,051 new and 144 deaths*) and France, which has registered, 3, 747, 263   all time infections,  85, 741 deaths, while 261, 649 others are now hale and hearty, leaving France with 3, 399, 873 active cases of Coronavirus.

Spain remains the 7th country worst hit, reporting 3, 188, 553 confirmations,  69, 142 deaths, while 150, 376 others have recovered, leaving Spain with 2, 969, 035 active cases of Coronavirus and Italy now reporting  2, 925, 265  cases since inception,  97, 699 deaths, while 2, 405, 199 others have been given clean bill of health, leaving Italy with 422, 367 active cases of Coronavirus(17, 440 new and 192 deaths*) and Turkey which has reported 2, 701, 588 all time cases, 28, 569 deaths and 2, 572, 234 recoveries, leaving Turkey with 100, 785 active cases of Coronavirus(8424 new and 66 deaths*).

Germany remains the 10th country worst hit, now reporting 2, 450, 294 confirmed cases, 70, 109 patients are no more, while 2, 253, 561 others have been treated and discharged, leaving Germany with 126, 624 active cases of Coronavirus(6409 new and 90 deaths*) and South Africa which has documented 1, 513, 393 all time infections,  49, 993 deaths, while 1, 430,259 others have been given clean bill of health, leaving South Africa with 33, 141 active cases of Coronavirus(1168 new and 52 deaths*).
