IKEJA, Lagos – The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control, NCDC has confirmed 643 new cases of Coronavirus in the country, bringing all time cases to 140,391. But out of the 140,391 confirmed cases, 114,635 patients have been treated and discharged, while 1,673 others could not make it alive, leaving Nigeria with 24, 083 active cases of Coronavirus. Six patients have died in the last 24 hours in Nigeria.
Breakdown of the new cases is as follows, Oyo-88, Lagos-86, Rivers-55, Edo-54, Akwa Ibom-53, Adamawa-52, Plateau-45, Kaduna-41, FCT-34, Kwara-27, Benue-20, Kano-19, Delta-18, Nasarawa-16, Niger-15, Bayelsa-11, Borno-5, Bauchi-2 and Sokoto-2, making a total of 643 new cases of Coronavirus in Nigeria.

There are now 106,420,830 confirmed cases of Coronavirus globally, 2,323,540 patients have lost their lives to the pandemic, while 59, 305,523 others have been treated and discharged. The world is now left with 44, 791, 767 active cases of Coronavirus based on the latest statistics from the Centre for Systems Science and Engineering, Johns Hopkins University, Maryland.
The Centre reports that the United States remains the most afflicted country, reporting 27, 074,482 all time infections, while 464,747 patients have lost their lives(87, 655 new and 1559 deaths*), followed by India which has documented 10,838,194 cases, 155, 080 deaths, while 10, 534, 505 others have been treated and discharged, leaving India with 148, 609 active cases of Coronavirus(11, 831 new and 84 deaths*) and Brazil now reporting 9, 524,640 confirmations, 231, 534 patients have passed on while 8, 468, 459 others have recovered and subsequently discharged, leaving Brazil with 824, 647 active cases of Coronavirus(77, 475 new and 1500 deaths*).
The United Kingdom comes up as the 4th country worst hit, reporting 3, 971, 287 confirmed cases, 113, 014 patients are no more, while only 10, 297 patients have been able to survive the ailment after medications, leaving the UK with 3, 847, 976 active cases of Coronavirus(14, 164 new and 333 deaths*), followed by Russia which has reported 3, 939,162 all time infections, 75, 828 deaths, while 3, 434, 163 others have recovered and therefore discharged, leaving Russia with 429, 171 active cases of Coronavirus(15, 701 new and 398 deaths*) and France with 3, 400, 302 confirmed cases, 79, 569 patients are already dead, while 240, 199 others have recovered and therefore discharged, leaving France with 3, 080, 534 active cases of Coronavirus(4321 new and 458 deaths*).
Spain is now the 7th country worst hit by the virus, reporting 2, 989,085 confirmed cases, 62, 295 patients have passed on while 150, 376 others have been discharged, leaving Spain with 2, 776, 414 active cases of Coronavirus(47, 095 new and 929 deaths*), followed by Italy which has reported 2, 644, 707 confirmed cases, 91, 580 deaths, while 2, 133, 523 others have been treated and discharged, leaving Italy with 419, 604 active cases(7969 new and 307 deaths*) and Turkey now reporting 2, 539,559 all time cases, 26, 900 patients are no more, while 2, 429,273 others are now hale and hearty, leaving Turkey with 83, 386 active cases of Coronavirus(8103 new and 103 deaths*).
Germany remains the 10th country worst hit by the virus, reporting 2, 296,323 confirmed cases, 61, 873 patients are no more, while 2,054, 340 others have been treated and discharged, leaving Germany with 180, 110 active cases of Coronavirus(4724 new and 271 deaths*) and South Africa which has reported 1, 477,511 confirmations, 46, 473 deaths, while 1, 363,947 others have recovered and therefore discharged, leaving South Africa with 67, 091 active cases of Coronavirus(3811 new and 293 deaths*).
