Coronavirus: Nigeria reports 655 new 11 deaths as active cases drops to 35, 303 in South Africa

LAGOS – The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control, NCDC has confirmed 655 new cases of Coronavirus in the country, bringing all time cases to 153,842. But out of the 153,842 total confirmed cases, 130,818 patients have been treated and discharged, while 1,885 others could not make it alive, leaving Nigeria with 21, 139 active cases of Coronavirus, while 11 patients died in the country in the last 24 hours.
Breakdown of the new cases is as follows, Lagos-240, Ogun-88, Rivers-56, FCT-51, Kaduna-43, Kano-25, Plateau-21, Taraba-19, Edo-17, Abia15, Delta-13, Nasarawa-11, Akwa Ibom-10, Kwara-10, Oyo-10, Kebbi-9, Borno-5, Bayelsa-4, Gombe-4, Ekiti-2 and Osun-2, making a total of 655 new cases.

There are currently 112, 409, 584 confirmed cases globally, 2,493, 420 patients have died as a result of the pandemic, while 63, 440, 310 others are now hale and hearty. According to the centre, the United States remains the most afflicted country with 28, 313, 003 all time cases while 504, 295 patients have lost their lives as a result of the pandemic(73, 432 new and 2290 deaths*) , followed by India which has documented 11, 030, 176 confirmed cases, 156, 567 deaths, while 10, 726, 702 others have survived the pandemic, leaving India with 146, 907 active cases of Coronavirus(13, 742 new and 104 deaths*) and Brazil which has reported 10, 257, 875 all time cases, 248, 529 patients are no more, while 9, 197, 566 others have recovered and therefore discharged, leaving Brazil with 811, 780 active cases of Coronavirus(62, 715 new and 1386 deaths*).
The United Kingdom remains the 4th country worst hit, now reporting 4, 156,703 all time infections, 121, 979 deaths, while 11, 468 others have been treated and discharged, leaving the UK with 4, 023, 256 Coronavirus cases , (9973 new and 443 deaths*) followed by Russia which has registered 4, 153, 735 cases, 83,044 patients have passed on while 3,709, 938 others have been treated and discharged, leaving Russia with 360, 753 active cases of Coronavirus(11, 609 new and 378 deaths*) and France with 3, 721, 053 all time cases, 85, 472 lives have been lost, while 260, 230 others have recovered, leaving France with 3, 375, 351 active cases of Coronavirus(31, 635 new and 277 deaths*).
Spain has continued as the 7th country most hit by the pandemic, reporting 3, 170, 644 all time cases, 68, 468 deaths, while 150, 376 others have been discharged, leaving Spain with 2, 951, 800 Coronavirus patients(9212 new and 389 deaths*), followed by Italy, which has reported 2, 848, 564 all time cases, 96, 666 patients are no more, while 2, 362, 465 others have been given clean bill of health, leaving Italy with 389, 433 active cases of Coronavirus(16,402 new and 318 deaths*) and Turkey which has documented 2, 665, 194 all time cases, 28, 285 deaths and 2, 540, 293 recoveries, leaving Turkey with 96, 616 active cases of Coronavirus(9561 new and 72 deaths*).
Germany remains as the 10th country worst hit, reporting 2, 416,029 confirmations, 68, 936 patients have passed on, while 2, 223, 438 others have recovered, leaving Germany with 123, 655 active cases(10, 881 new and 411 deaths*) and South Africa still the 16th country most affected, now reporting 1, 507, 448 all time cases, 49, 523 deaths and 1, 422, 622 recoveries, leaving South Africa with 35, 303 active cases of Coronavirus(1862 new and 110 deaths*).
