Coronavirus claims 4066 patients in 24 hours in US as Nigeria reports 1138 new cases

LAGOS, Nigeria – The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) has confirmed 1138 new cases of Coronavirus in the country, bringing all time cases to 134,690. But out of the 134,690 total confirmed cases, 108,657 patients have been treated and discharged, while 1,618 others could not make it alive, leaving Nigeria with 24, 415 active cases of Coronavirus.
Breakdown of the new cases is as follows, Lagos-377, FCT-172, Plateau-86, Kano-84, Edo-60, Osun-47, Nasarawa-41, Imo-40, Rivers-36, Niger-32, Oyo-32, Borno-29, Kaduna-27, Delta-18, Kwara-17, Cross River-9, Ekiti-8, Bauchi-7, Ogun-7, Sokoto-6 and Bayelsa-3, making a total of 1138 new cases of Coronavirus.

There are now 104, 210,649 confirmed cases of Coronavirus worldwide, 2, 262,335 patients have been killed by the virus, while 57, 849,378 patients have recovered and therefore discharged. The world is now left with 44, 098, 936 active cases of Coronavirus based on the latest statistics from the Centre for Systems Science and Engineering, Johns Hopkins University, Maryland.
According to the centre, the United States remains the most afflicted country, now reporting 26,517,212 confirmed cases, 449, 485 patients have lost their lives to the pandemic(132,383 new and 4,066 deaths*), followed by India, which has documented 10, 777, 284 confirmed cases, 154, 596 deaths, while 10,462,631 others have recovered and therefore discharged, leaving India with 60, 057 active cases of Coronavirus(11, 039 new and 110 deaths*) and Brazil with 9, 283,418 confirmed cases, 226,309 deaths and 8, 264,852 recoveries, leaving Brazil with 792, 257 active cases of Coronavirus(54, 096 new and 1210 deaths*).
The United Kingdom comes up as the 4th most affected country, reporting 3, 882, 972 cases, 109, 547 patients are no more, while only 9, 936 others have recovered and subsequently discharged, leaving the UK with 3, 763, 489 Coronavirus cases(19, 217 new and 1322 deaths*), followed by Russia which has confirmed 3, 858, 367 all time cases, 73, 497 patients have passed on, while 3, 328, 696 others have been treated and discharged, leaving Russia with 456, 174 active cases of Coronavirus(16, 222 new and 515 deaths*) and France which has confirmed 3, 310, 027 all time infections, 77, 741 patients are already dead, while 234,678 others have been treated and discharged, leaving France with 2, 997, 608 active cases of Coronavirus(49, 041 new and 1082 deaths*).
Spain comes up as the 7th country worst hit by the pandemic, reporting 2, 883, 465 confirmations, 60, 370 patients are no more, while 150, 376 others have survived the pandemic, leaving Spain with 2, 672, 719 active cases of Coronavirus(31, 596 new and 565 deaths*), followed by Italy which has reported 2, 583, 790 confirmed cases, 89, 820 patients have kicked the bucket while 2, 059, 248 others are now hale and hearty, leaving Italy with 434, 722 active cases of Coronavirus(13, 182 new and 476 deaths*) and Turkey which has confirmed 2, 501, 079 all time cases, 26, 354 patients are already dead, while 2, 387,384 others have been treated and discharged, leaving Turkey with 87, 341 active cases of Coronavirus(8102 new and 117 deaths*).
Germany remains the 10th country worst hit, reporting 2, 252,254 all time cases, 59, 310 patients are no more, while 1, 989, 309 others have been treated and discharged, leaving Germany with 203, 635 active cases of Coronavirus(12, 372 new and 1034 deaths*) and South Africa, now the 15th country worst hit by the Coronavirus pandemic, reporting 1, 458, 958 confirmed cases, 45, 344 patients have died as a result of the pandemic, while only 1, 323, 680 others have survived , leaving South Africa with 89,934 active cases of Coronavirus(2649 new and 945 deaths*).
