Nigeria confirms 1634 new cases as Coronavirus kills 3020 in US in 24 hours

LAGOS, Nigeria – The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) has confirmed 1634 new cases of Coronavirus, in the country, bringing all time cases 133,552. But out of the 133,552 confirmed cases, 107, 551 patients have been treated and discharged, while 1613 others could not make it alive. Nigeria is now left with 24,388 active cases of Coronavirus in the country.
Breakdown of the new cases is as follows, Lagos-440, Anambra-160, FCT-158, Rivers-134, Abia-103, Oyo-90, Enugu-81, Osun-73, Gombe-54, Kwara-50, Ogun-32, Plateau-32, Akwa Ibom-31, Ondo-24, Borno-23, Delta-23, Ebonyi-21, Taraba-21, Bayelsa-16, Kaduna-15, Nasarawa-13, Jigawa-12, Bauchi-11, Kano-11, Zamfara-4 and Sokoto-2, making a total of 1634 new cases.

There are now 103, 684, 249 confirmed cases of Coronavirus worldwide, 2, 246,844 patients have lost their lives due to the pandemic, while 57,548,416 others have been treated and discharged.
The world is now left 43, 888, 989 active cases of Coronavirus based on the latest statistics uploaded by the Centre for Systems Science and Engineering, Johns Hopkins University, Maryland.
According to the centre, the United States remains the most afflicted, reporting 26,384,829 confirmed cases, while 445,419 others have been killed by the pandemic(116, 781 new and 3020 deaths*), followed India, which has confirmed 10, 766,245 cases, 154,486 deaths and 10, 448,406 recoveries, leaving India with 163, 353 active cases of Coronavirus(8635 new and 94 deaths*) and Brazil which has reported 9, 229,322 confirmed cases, 225, 099 deaths, while 8, 236,647 patients have been treated and discharged, leaving Brazil with 767, 576 active cases of Coronavirus(24, 491 new and 595 deaths*).
The United Kingdom comes up as the 4th country most afflicted, reporting 3, 863, 755 all time cases, 108, 225 deaths, while 9, 818 others have recovered and therefore discharged, leaving the UK with 3, 745, 712 Coronavirus patients(16, 904 new and 1451 deaths*), followed by Russia which has documented 3, 842, 145 confirmations, 72, 982 deaths, while 3, 304,311 patients have recovered and subsequently discharged, leaving Russia with 464, 852 active cases of Coronavirus(16, 406 new and 526 deaths*) and France which has reported 3, 260,986 confirmed cases, 76, 659 patients are no more, while 231,525 others have been treated and discharged, leaving France with 2, 952, 802 active cases of Coronavirus(719 new and 3 deaths*).
Spain has come up as the 7th country most hit, reporting 2, 851, 869 confirmed cases, 59, 805 patients are already dead, while 150, 376 others have been discharged, leaving Spain with 2, 641, 688 patients who are still down with Coronavirus(29,064 new and 724 deaths*), followed by Italy with 2, 570, 608 confirmations, 89, 344 people have lost their lives, while 2, 043, 499 others have been treated and discharged, leaving Italy with 437, 765 active cases of Coronavirus(9651 new and 499 deaths*) and Turkey which has documented 2,492,977 confirmed cases, 26, 237 deaths and 2, 379, 070 recoveries, leaving Turkey with 2, 229, 670 active cases of Coronavirus(7795 new and 120 deaths*).
Germany remains the 10th country worst hit, reporting 2, 239,882 cases since inception, 58, 276 patients have kicked the bucket, while 1, 970,792 others have recovered and therefore discharged, leaving Germany with 210, 814 active cases of Coronavirus(7570 new and 786 deaths*) and South Africa, now the 15th country worst hit, reporting 1, 456, 309 confirmed cases, 44,399 patients are no more, while 1, 306,022 others have survived the pandemic, leaving South Africa with 105, 888 active cases of Coronavirus(2548 new*).
