LAGOS, Nigeria – The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) has confirmed 1585 new cases of Coronavirus in the country, bringing all time cases to 99,063. But out of the 99,063 confirmed cases, 79, 417 patients have been treated and discharged while 1350 others could not make it alive, leaving Nigeria with 18,296 active cases of Coronavirus.
Breakdown of the new cases is as follows, Lagos-573, FCT-182, Plateau-162, Gombe-81, Oyo-75, Rivers-68, Sokoto-58, Ondo-55, Ogun-42, Nasarawa-40, Akwa Ibom-36, Edo-31, Kaduna-27, Anambra-22, Delta-19, Kano-17, Osun-17, Ebonyi-16, Katsina-14, Niger-14, Bayelsa-9, EKiti-8, Borno-7, Jigawa-5, Abia-4, Bauchi-3, making a total of 1585 new cases of Coronavirus.

There are 89, 396, 983 confirmed cases of Coronavirus globally, 1, 921, 952 others have been killed by the virus, while 49, 650,452 others have recovered. There are now 37, 824, 579 active cases of Coronavirus worldwide based on the latest statistics from the Centre for Systems Science and Engineering, Johns Hopkins University, Maryland.
According to the centre, the United States remains the worst country hit by Coronavirus, reporting 22, 060, 588 confirmed cases, 371, 616 patients have been killed by the virus(284, 516 new and 3981 deaths*), followed by India which has reported 10, 431, 639 all time cases, 150, 798 deaths and 10, 056,651 recoveries, leaving India with 224, 190 active cases of Coronavirus(18,222 new and 228 deaths*) and Brazil which has documented 8, 013, 708 confirmed cases, 201, 460 patients have passed away, while 7, 202, 226 others have been treated and discharged, leaving Brazil with 610, 022 active cases of Coronavirus(52,035 new and 962 deaths*).
Russia has come up as the 4th country most hit by the virus, reporting 3, 344, 175 confirmed cases, 60, 523 patients are no more, while 2, 726, 336 others have recovered, leaving Russia with 557, 316 active cases of Coronavirus(23, 012 new and 456 deaths*), followed by the United Kingdom which has documented 3, 026, 313 all time cases, 81,000 patients have lost their lives to the virus, while 6, 850 people have been treated and discharged since March 2020, leaving the UK with 2, 938, 463 Coronavirus patients to treat(60, 110 new and 1,041 deaths*) and France which has reported 2, 824, 920 all time infections, 67, 734 deaths and 208,090 recoveries, leaving France with 2, 549, 096 active cases of Coronavirus(61, 357 new 1034 deaths*).
Turkey remains the 7th country most hit by the virus, reporting 2, 317, 118 all time infections, 22, 631 patients are no more, while 2, 190, 047 others have been treated and discharged, leaving Turkey with 104, 440 active cases(9537 new and 181 deaths*) followed by Italy which has documented 2, 257, 866 confirmations, 78, 394 patients are already dead, while 1, 606, 630 others have recovered, leaving Italy with 572, 842 active cases of Coronavirus(19, 976 new and 483 deaths*) and Spain which has documented 2, 050, 360 confirmed cases, 51, 874 patients have been killed by the virus, while 150, 376 patients have recovered, leaving Spain with 1, 848, 110 Coronavirus patients.
Germany which now stands as the 10th country most hit by the virus has registered 1, 914, 328 all time cases, 40, 221 patients are already dead, while 1, 535, 430 others have recovered, leaving Germany with 338, 677 active cases of Coronavirus(20, 427 new and 719 deaths*) and South Africa(16) which has reported 1, 214, 176 all time cases, 32, 824 patients are now dead, while 956, 712 others have been treated and discharged, leaving South Africa with 224, 640 active cases of Coronavirus(21, 606 new and 399 deaths*).
