LAGOS, Nigeria – The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control, (NCDC) has confirmed 1074 new cases of Coronavirus in the country, bringing all time cases to 88,587. But out of the 88,587 all time cases, 74,373 patients have been treated successfully and discharged, while 1,294 others could not make it alive, leaving Nigeria with 11, 920 active cases.
Breakdown of the new cases is as follows, Lagos-642, Kaduna-92, Rivers-78, FCT-66, Gombe-66, Kano-35, Ogun-31, Katsina-22, Plateau-20, Abia-7, Niger-4, Oyo-4, Akwa Ibom-3, Delta-2 and Osun-2, making a total of 1074 new cases of Coronavirus.

There are now 83, 832, 334 confirmed cases of Coronavirus worldwide, 1, 824,590 lives have been lost to Coronavirus, while 47, 226,487 others have recovered. There are now 34, 781, 257 active cases of Coronavirus worldwide based on the latest statistics from the Centre for Systems Science and Engineering, Johns Hopkins University, Maryland.
According to the centre, the United States remains the most afflicted country, reporting 20, 085,408 confirmed cases, 347, 202 patients are already dead(178,839 new cases 2, 677 deaths*) followed by India, which has reported 10, 286, 709 all time cases, 148, 994 patients are no more while 9, 883,461 others have been treated successfully and discharged, leaving India with 254, 254 active cases of Coronavirus(20, 035 new cases and 256 deaths*) and Brazil with 7,675,973 confirmed cases, 194, 949 deaths, while 6, 853,221 others have recovered, leaving Brazil with 627, 803 active cases of Coronavirus(56, 773 new cases and 1,074 deaths*).
Russia now stands as the 4th country most afflicted, reporting 3, 153, 960 confirmations, 56,798 patients have been killed by the virus, while 2, 553, 467 others have been treated successfully and discharged, leaving Russia with 543, 695 active cases of Coronavirus(26, 613 new cases and 527 deaths* ), followed by France, which has documented 2, 677, 871 all time infections, 64, 760 people have been killed by the virus, while 200, 352 others have been treated successfully and discharged, leaving France with 2, 412, 759 Coronavirus patients to contend with(320 new cases and 1 death*) and the United Kingdom which has reported 2, 549,688 confirmed cases, 74, 235 patients have been killed by the virus, while only 5, 490 patients have been assisted successfully to overcome the pandemic. The UK is now left with 2, 469, 963 active cases of Coronavirus (53, 484 new cases and 613 deaths*).
Turkey remains the 7th country most affected by Coronavirus, reporting 2, 220, 855 all time cases, 21, 093 deaths and 2, 114, 760 recoveries, leaving Turkey with 85, 002 active cases of Coronavirus(12, 203 new cases and 212 deaths*), followed by Italy which has documented 2, 129, 376 confirmations, 74, 621 patients have passed on while 1, 479,988 others have recovered, leaving Italy with 574, 767 active cases of Coronavirus(22, 210 new cases and 462 deaths*) and Spain which has officially registered 1, 928, 265 all time infections, 50, 837 deaths and 150, 376 recoveries, leaving Spain with 1, 727, 052 active cases of Coronavirus.
Germany has come up as the 10th country most afflicted, reporting 1, 762,366 confirmed cases, 33, 841 patients are already dead, while 1, 360, 297 others have been treated successfully and discharged, leaving Germany with 368, 228 active cases of Coronavirus(16, 730 new cases and 346 deaths* ) and South Africa now the 17th most afflicted country worldwide with 1, 073, 887 confirmed cases, 28, 887 deaths and 887, 701 recoveries, leaving South Africa with 157, 299 active cases of Coronavirus(34, 726 new cases and 845 deaths*).
