Coronavirus: New cases in Nigeria drops to 685 as 2413 patients die in the US

LAGOS, Nigeria – The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control, NCDC has confirmed 685 new cases of Coronavirus in the country, the lowest since the outset of the second wave of Coronavirus.
There are now 131,242 confirmed cases of Coronavirus in the country. But out of the 131,242 confirmed cases, 104,989 patients have been treated and discharged, while 1,586 others could not make it alive, leaving Nigeria with 24, 667 active cases of Coronavirus.
Breakdown of the new cases is as follows: Lagos-355, Kaduna-58, Nasarawa-46, Kano-40, Akwa Ibom-33, Katsina-26, Ogun-25, Osun-21, Rivers-16, Edo-15, Oyo-13, Ondo-12, Borno-11, Ekiti-9, Kebbi-3 and Plateau-2, making a total of 685 new cases.

The world is now left with 43, 649, 037 active cases of Coronavirus, the Centre for Systems Science and Engineering, Johns Hopkins University, Maryland has reported.
According to the centre, the United States remains the most afflicted country, reporting 26, 130,009 confirmed cases while 440, 652 patients have lost their lives to Coronavirus(117, 129 new and 2413 deaths*), followed by India, which has confirmed 10, 746, 183 all time cases, 154, 274 patients are no more, while 10, 423, 125 others have recovered and therefore discharged, leaving India with 168, 784 active cases of Coronavirus(13, 052 new and 127 deaths*) and Brazil which has documented 9, 176, 975 confirmed cases, 223, 945 patients are no more, while 8, 148, 671 others have been treated and discharged, leaving Brazil with 804, 359 active cases of Coronavirus(58, 462 new and 1279 deaths*).
The United Kingdom remains the 4th country most affected by the virus, reporting 3, 828, 183 confirmed cases, 106, 367 patients have passed on, while only 9, 652 patients have survived the pandemic, leaving the UK with 3, 712, 164 active cases of Coronavirus(21,190 new and 590 deaths*) , followed by Russia which has documented 3, 808,348 confirmed cases, 72, 029 patients have lost their lives to the virus, while 3, 264,611 patients have been treated and discharged, leaving Russia with 470, 708 active cases of Coronavirus(18,083 new and 473 deaths*) and France which has reported 3, 255,920 all time cases, 76, 201 patients are no more, while 230, 612 others have been treated and discharged, leaving France with 2, 949, 107 active cases of Coronavirus(43, 184 new and 195 deaths*).
Spain remains the 7th country most hit, reporting 2, 743,119 confirmed cases, 58, 319 patients have passed on while 150, 376 others have been treated and discharged, leaving Spain with 2, 534, 424 active cases of Coronavirus, followed by Italy with 2, 553,032 confirmations, 88, 516 deaths and 2,010,548 recoveries, leaving Italy with 453, 968 active cases of Coronavirus(11, 249 new and 237 deaths*) and Turkey, which has registered 2, 447,463 confirmed cases, 25, 993 patients are no more, while 2, 362,415 others have recovered and therefore discharged, leaving Turkey with 59, 055 active cases of Coronavirus(128 deaths*).
Germany is the 10th country most hit by Coronavirus, reporting 2, 225,542 all time cases, 57, 163 patients have passed on while 1, 940,046 others have recovered and therefore discharged, leaving Germany with 228, 333 active cases of Coronavirus(8841 new and 289 deaths*) and South Africa(15) which has registered 1, 449, 236 confirmations, 44, 164 deaths and 1, 299,620 recoveries, leaving South Africa with 105, 452 active cases of Coronavirus(5297 new and 213 deaths*).
