IKEJA, Lagos – The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control(NCDC) has confirmed 1444 new cases of Coronavirus, bringing all time cases to 110,387. But out of the 110,387 confirmed, 89,317 patients have been treated and discharged, while 1,435 others could not make it alive, leaving Nigeria with 19, 635 active cases of Coronavirus.
Breakdown of the new cases is as follows: Plateau-136, Kaduna-57, FCT-54, Ebonyi-53, Akwa Ibom-52, Nasarawa-32, Osun-29, Ogun-28, Imo-16, Oyo-16, Edo-15, Kano-14, Rivers-10, Ekiti-7, Borno-6, Abia-5, Benue-4, Yobe-4, Kebbi-3 and Anambra-2, making a total of 1444 new cases.

There are 94,826, 490 confirmed cases of Coronavirus worldwide, 2, 027,419 people have been killed by the virus, while 52,211,124 others have been treated and discharged. There are now 40, 587, 947 active cases of Coronavirus globally based on the latest statistics from the Centre for Systems Science and Engineering, Johns Hopkins University, Maryland.
According to the Centre, the United States remains the most affected country, reporting 23,871,070 confirmed cases while 397, 008 people have been killed by the virus,(226, 185 new and 3043 deaths*) followed by India which has registered 10, 557, 985 all time cases, 152,274 patients have lost their lives, while 10, 196, 885 others have recovered, leaving India with 208, 826 active cases of Coronavirus(15, 144 new and 181 deaths*) and Brazil which has reported 8, 455, 059 all time infections, 209, 296 patients are no more, while 7, 507,304 others have been treated and discharged, leaving Brazil with 738, 459 active cases of Coronavirus(61, 567 new and 1050 deaths*).
Russia still remains the 4th country most afflicted by the virus, reporting 3,530,379 all time infections, 64, 601 patients have passed on while 2, 929,255 others have recovered and subsequently discharged, leaving Russia with 536, 523 active cases of Coronavirus(23, 178 new and 467 deaths*), followed by the United Kingdom which has registered 3, 405, 710 all time infections, 89, 427 deaths and 7, 963 recoveries, leaving the UK with 3, 308, 320 cases of Coronavirus(38, 722 new and 680 deaths*) and France which has documented 2, 931,885 confirmed cases, 70,094 deaths, while 213, 997 others have passed away, leaving France with 2, 647, 794 Coronavirus patients(202 new and 1 death*).
Turkey has come up as the 7th country most affected by Coronavirus globally, reporting 2, 387, 101 confirmed cases, 23, 997 patients have already died, 2, 262,864 others have been treated and discharged, leaving Turkey with 100, 240 active cases of Coronavirus(6436 new and 165 deaths), followed by Italy with 2, 381,277 confirmed cases, 82, 177 deaths and 1, 745,726 recoveries, leaving Italy with 553,374 active cases of Coronavirus(12, 544 new and 377 deaths*) and Spain which has reported 2, 252,164 confirmed cases, 53, 314 patients are already dead, while 150, 376 others have been treated and discharged, leaving Spain with 2, 048, 474 Coronavirus patients.
Germany remains the 10th country most hit by Coronavirus, reporting 2, 050, 180 all time cases, 46, 781 deaths, while 1,693, 562 others have been treated and discharged, leaving Germany with 309, 837 active cases of Coronavirus(11, 669 new and 320 deaths*) and South Africa now the 15th country worst hit by the virus, reporting 1, 337,926 confirmations, 37, 105 deaths, while 1,098,441 others have recovered and subsequently discharged, leaving South Africa with 202, 380 active cases of Coronavirus(12, 267 new and 254 deaths*).
