LAGOS, Nigeria – The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control, NCDC has confirmed 1386 new cases of Coronavirus in the country, bringing all time cases to 114, 691. But out of the 114, 691 confirmed cases,   92, 336 patients have been treated and discharged, while  1478 others could not make it alive, leaving Nigeria with 20,877 active cases of Coronavirus.

Breakdown of the new cases is as follows, Lagos-476, Rivers-163, FCT-116, Kaduna-114, Oyo-68, Plateau-62, Ogun-56, Imo-55, Osun-55, Edo-51, Anambra-50, Kwara-44, Kano-17, Ebonyi-14, Cross River-10, Delta-10 ,,Jigawa-8, Bayelsa-6, Ekiti-6, Borno-2, Taraba-2 and Zamfara-1, making a total of 1386 new cases of Coronavirus in the country.

There are now 96, 594,427 confirmed cases of Coronavirus worldwide, 2,067, 611 patients are now dead, while 53, 241, 716 others have recovered – the world is now left with  41, 285, 100 active cases of Coronavirus, based on the latest statistics released by the Centre for Systems Science and Engineering, Johns Hopkins University, Maryland.

According to the centre, the United States remains the most afflicted country, reporting  24, 356,741 confirmed cases, while  404,284  patients have been killed by the virus(170, 383 new and 3992 deaths*), followed by India which has documented 10, 595, 660 confirmed cases, 152, 718 patients are no more, while 10, 245, 741 others have been treated and discharged, leaving India with 197, 201 active cases of Coronavirus(13, 873 new and 162 deaths*) and Brazil which has reported  8, 573,864 confirmations, 211, 491 patients are already dead, while 7, 618, 080 patients have recovered, leaving  Brazil with 744, 293 active cases of Coronavirus(62, 090 new and 1192 deaths*).

Russia remains the 4th country most hit by the virus, reporting 3, 595, 136 confirmed cases, 66, 214 patients are no more, while   2, 995,256 others have recovered and subsequently discharged, leaving Russia with 533,666 active cases of Coronavirus(20, 806 new and 582 deaths*), followed by the United Kingdom which has documented 3, 515,796 cases, 93, 469 patients are no more, while 8, 477 others have recovered and subsequently discharged, leaving the UK with 3,413, 850 Coronavirus cases(39, 010 new and 1826 deaths*), followed by France  which has reported  3, 023, 400 all time cases,  71, 792 deaths, while 219, 354 others have been treated and discharged, leaving France with 2, 732, 254 Coronavirus cases(26, 616 new*) .

Italy has occupied the 7th country worst hit by the virus, reporting 2, 414,166 confirmations, 83, 681 deaths and 1, 806,932 recoveries, leaving Italy with 523, 553 active cases of Coronavirus(13, 568 new and 524 deaths*), followed by Spain with 2, 412,318 all time infections, 54, 637 patients have lost their lives, while 150, 376 others have been treated and discharged, leaving Spain with 2, 207, 305 Coronavirus patients(41, 576 new and 464 deaths*)  and Turkey, now reporting 2, 406,216 confirmed cases, 24, 487 deaths and 2, 283,919 recoveries, leaving Turkey with 97,810 active cases of Coronavirus(6435 new and 159 deaths*).

Germany maintains the 10th country worst hit by the virus, reporting 2,090, 098 confirmations, 49, 499 patients have been killed by the virus, while 1, 761,750 others have recovered and therefore discharged, leaving Germany with 278, 849 active cases of Coronavirus(21, 420 new and 1066 deaths*) and South Africa, now the 15th country worst hit with 1, 356,716  confirmed cases, 38, 854 deaths and 1, 160,412 recoveries, leaving South Africa with 157, 450 active cases of Coronavirus(9780 new and 1405 deaths*).
