LAGOS, Nigeria – The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control, (NCDC) has confirmed 1,133 new cases of Coronavirus in the country, bringing all time cases to 80,922. But out of the 80,922 all time cases, 69,274 patients have been treated successfully and discharged, while 1,236 others could not make it alive. Active cases in Nigeria has risen to 10, 412.
Breakdown of the new cases is as follows, Lagos-397, FCT-357, Kaduna-81, Plateau-63, Katsina-46, Sokoto-32, , Oyo-28, Ogun-21, Kano-19, Rivers-18, Osun-13, Edo-12, Niger-12, Bayelsa-11, Borno-11, Bauchi-8, Jigawa-2 and Ondo-2, making a total of 1, 133 new cases of Coronavirus in Nigeria.

Meanwhile, there are 78, 494, 742 confirmed cases of Coronavirus worldwide, 1, 726,329 patients have been killed by the virus, while 44, 219, 799 others have been treated successfully and discharged. There are now 32, 548, 614 active cases of Coronavirus globally based on the latest statistics from the Centre for Systems Science and Engineering, Johns Hopkins University, Maryland.
According to Johns Hopkins, the United States remains the most afflicted country globally, reporting 18, 381, 991 all time cases, 325,358 deaths, while total recoveries remained concealed(213, 214 new cases), followed by India which has documented 10, 099, 066 all time cases, 146, 444 deaths, while 9,663,382 others have been treated successfully and discharged, leaving India with 289, 240 active cases of Coronavirus(23, 950 new cases), followed by Brazil which has confirmed 7, 318, 821 all time cases, 188, 259 deaths and 6, 501,341 recoveries, leaving Brazil with 629, 221 active cases of Coronavirus(55, 202 new cases).
Russia remains the 4th country worst hit by the virus, reporting 2, 905, 196 all time cases, 51, 810 patients are already dead, while 2, 321,362 others have recovered, leaving Russia with 532, 024 active cases of Coronavirus(26, 814 new cases), followed by France with 2, 562,559 confirmations, 62, 097 deaths and 193, 192 recoveries, leaving France with 2, 307, 270 patients still down with the ailment hoping for the best to keep living(15, 047 new cases) and the United Kingdom with 2, 155,846 confirmed cases, 69, 156 patients are already dead, while only 4, 614 patients have been fortunate to survive the ailment, leaving the UK with 2, 082, 076 active cases of Coronavirus(39, 273 new cases).
Turkey has settled down as the 7th most afflicted country, reporting 2, 082, 610 all time cases, 18, 861 patients have lost their lives to the virus, while 1, 901, 307 others have been treated successfully and discharged, leaving Turkey with 162, 442 active cases of Coronavirus(19, 650 new cases), followed by Italy with 1, 991, 378 all time cases, 70, 373 patients are no more while 1, 322,067 patients have been treated successfully and discharged, leaving Italy with 598, 938 active cases of Coronavirus(14,008 new cases) and Spain, which has reported 1, 842, 289 all time infections, 49, 698 deaths and 150, 376 patients have recovered, the figure being constant since June 2020. There are now 1, 642, 215 active cases of Coronavirus in Spain(12, 386 new cases).
Germany which has settled down as the 10th country worst hit by the virus, has documented 1, 579,033 all time cases, 28, 527 patients are no more, while 1, 176, 877 others have recovered, leaving Germany with 373, 629 active cases of Coronavirus(22, 428 new cases) and South Africa, now the 18th country worst hit. South Africa has reported 954,258 all time cases of Coronavirus, 25, 657 deaths, while 811,372 others have recovered, leaving South Africa with 117, 229 active cases of Coronavirus(14, 046 new cases).
