ONITSHA, Nigeria – Anambra State 2021 Governorship aspirant under the platform of Peoples ‘Democratic Party (PDP) Dr. Godwin Maduka has given the assurance of lifting the state to a greater height through innovative programmes if he is elected governor.
He gave the assurance on Sunday night after receiving the Anambra state man of the year Award organised by 100 Achievers communications, Anambra state. According to him, time has come to raise the state to an enviable position through human capital and infrastructural development.
“I am offering myself to change the narrative of the state by bringing in innovative programme that will change the state” he said.
Dr. Maduka who holds over six PhDs in various fields including pharmacy , medicine and others said ,if elected the Governor, he was going to google-map the state for adequate security surveillance and creative economy.
Maduka who is the Medical Director, Las Vegas Pain institute United State of America promised to pay greater attention to grassroots development and empowerment of the teaming youths in the state.
” If am made the governor of the state, I will make sure that everybody will know his/her duties and needs in the state. We are sick of doing the same thing that yields no positive results to the state ” he said. Others who were honoured at the award ceremony include the DPO of 33 police station Onitsha, CSP Rabiu Garba as Anambra Hero of the year, the Founder and Chairman, Ugochukwu Okeke Foundation as the Anambra political role model of the year and The Caring Family Enhancement Initiative (CAFE) as the Anambra NGO of the year.
Others are Jude Anayo Ekekobi as Igbo language promoter of the year , the Founder of Edufun Technik STEM HUB, Mrs Uchenna Onuamaegbu Ugwu as Anambra Innovator of the year and others.
Earlier in his address, the Chairman of the 100 Achievers communications, Mr. Chikezie Chinedu said the maiden edition of the Anambra Man of the Year Award was designed to encourage and stimulate positive development in the state.
“The Anambra Man of the year award is conceptualized in order to celebrate outstanding feats by individuals, brands and corporate organizations, but most importantly as a medium to inspire the society at large” he said. He said the organizations after a thorough selection processes picked 25 individuals, brands and organizations for the maiden edition of the Anambra Man of the Year Award.
“We are proud to say that the impact made by these individuals/brands/organizations for the year 2020 is most profound as we congratulate them, we say, they shouldn’t rest on their oars but should strive to surpass their own standards by all efforts” he said.
