LAGOS, Nigeria – The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control, NCDC has confirmed 198 new cases of Coronavirus pandemic, bringing all time cases to 66,805. But out of the  66,805 all time cases, 62,493 patients have been treated and  discharged, while  1,169  others could not make it alive, leaving Nigeria with 3143 active cases of Coronavirus, #Coronavirusnigeria.

Breakdown of the new cases is as follows, FCT -53, Lagos-48, Ogun-40,  Akwa Ibom-20, Bauchi-9, Plateau-8, Kaduna-5, Kano-4, Benue-3, Jigawa-3, Nasarawa-3, Edo-1 and Kwara-1, making a total of  198 new cases.

A new landmark figure has been recorded in the number of confirmed cases of Coronavirus worldwide with total cases now above 60 million. Specifically, there are now 60,174, 732 confirmed cases,   1, 417, 153 patients are already dead, while 38, 456, 720 others have recovered, the Centre for Systems Science and Engineering, Johns Hopkins University, (JHU) has reported. There are now 20, 300, 859 active cases of Coronavirus worldwide.

According to JHU, the United States remains the most afflicted country, reporting 12, 715, 888 confirmed cases,  261, 480 deaths, while 4, 696, 996 others have been treated and discharged, leaving the USA with 7, 757, 412 active cases of Coronavirus(196, 972 new cases), followed by India which has documented 9, 222,216 all time cases, 134, 699 patients are no more, while 8, 642,771 others have recovered, leaving India with 444, 746 active cases(44, 376 new cases) and Brazil which has reported 6, 118,708  all time infections, 170, 115 patients have passed on, while 5, 509,645 others have been treated and discharged, leaving Brazil with 438, 948 active cases of Coronavirus(31, 100 new cases).

France has come up as the 4th country most hit by the infection, reporting 2, 221, 608  confirmed cases,  50, 700 deaths and 162,130 recoveries, leaving France with  2, 008, 778 active cases of Coronavirus(16, 513 new cases), followed by Russia which has reported  2, 144, 229 all time cases,  37, 173  patients are already dead, while 1, 646,737 others have recovered, leaving Russia with 460, 319 patients still sick but hoping for the best of medical care to keep living(23, 393 new cases) and Spain which has documented  1, 605, 066  confirmed cases,  44, 037 patients have died as a result of the virus, while  150, 376 patients have been discharged, leaving Spain with 1, 410, 653 active cases of Coronavirus(10, 222 new cases).

The United Kingdom has come up as the 7th country worst hit with  1, 560, 846  total cases,  56, 630 deaths, while only 3,422 patient have regained their health, leaving the UK with 1, 500, 794  active cases of Coronavirus(18, 236 new cases), followed by  Italy which has reported  1, 480,874 all time cases,  52, 028 deaths and 637,149 others are now hale and hearty, leaving Italy with 791, 697 active cases of Coronavirus(25, 852 new cases) and  Argentina which has reported 1, 381, 795 confirmations,  37, 432 deaths and  1, 210, 634 recoveries, leaving Argentina with 133, 729 active cases of Coronavirus(7, 164 new cases).

Colombia, which  is the 10th country most affected has reported 1, 262,494  all time cases,  35, 677 lives have been claimed by the virus, while   1, 167, 857  others have survived the pandemic, leaving Colombia with 58, 960 active cases(7, 515 new cases) and South Africa, now the 16th most affected, reporting  772, 252 confirmed cases,  21, 083 deaths and 716, 444 recoveries, leaving South Africa with 34, 725  active cases of Coronavirus.
