PDP in comfortable lead in Edo 2020 governorship election

BENIN, Edo, Nigeria – The Peoples Democratic Party(PDP) is already in a comfortable lead in the Edo Governorship election with results so far released by the various electoral officers in the various wards in 18 Local Government Areas of Edo State.
According to the result sheet unofficially released, candidate of the PDP, Dr. Godwin Obaseki appears to have won with 59 percent of total votes cast to defeat candidate of the All Progressive Congress(APC), Pastor Ize Iyamu who has secured just 41 percent of the total votes almost tallying with the result of online poll held before the election.
In the result sheet unofficial available on the internet, the PDP has secured 166, 214 votes(59) percent of the votes to defeat the APC that secured 115, 514 votes(41) percent of the total vote cast.
Total vote cast so far was 283,042 votes. INEC office is currently besieged by party faithful, with the majority expecting the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to announced candidate of the PDP as winner of the election.
Total valid votes cast 281, 728, while 1,314 votes were invalidated.
