JIFORM picks Popoola as Chairman LOC for migration summit
LAGOS, Nigeria – The Journalists International Forum For Migration (JIFORM) has named frontline journalist with the Independent Newspapers Limited (INL), Yaqoub Popoola as the Chairman of the Local Organizing Committee (LOC) of its 2nd annual international migration summit themed Migration Management and Media Strategy for Development at Pandemic slated for Ibadan, Oyo State on October 15, 2002.
The media practitioner becomes the second JIFORM LOC chairman for the programme which had Deputy Comptroller James Sunday, the National Public Relations Officer of the Nigeria Immigration Service as its inaugural point man in 2019.
Popoola who doubles as the South West Coordinator of the foundation according to the President of JIFORM, Ajibola Abayomi, was chosen because of his keen interest in the activities of the organization and his exceptional leadership quality.

Others named as members of the committee included Adedayo Adelowo of Federal Radio Corporation of Nigeria (FRCN), Ibadan who is to serve as secretary, Mrs Bolanle Adesida of Paramount FM Radio, Abeokuta, Ogun state as well as a correspondent with an international media outfit in charge of Europe and Africa based in Nigeria, Salemfly Salem Olusegun.
The JIFORM President said the distinguished journalist has the capacity to put up strategies and planning for the success of the event.
