Coronavirus: 90 cases new in Nigeria and 10, 960 active while China is left with 374 cases

LAGOS, Nigeria – The Nigeria Centre of Disease Control (NCDC) has confirmed 90 new cases of Coronavirus in Nigeria, bringing all time cases to 56, 478.

Out of the 56,478 total cases, 44,430 others have been discharged while 1,088 others could not make it alive, leaving Nigeria with 10, 960 active cases of Coronavirus.

Breakdown of the new cases is as follows, Lagos-33, Plateau-27, Kaduna-17, Ogun-6, FCT-4, Anambra-1, Ekiti-1 and Nasarawa-1, making a total of 90 new cases of Coronavirus.

“NCDC@NCDC gov90 new cases of #COVID19Nigeria; Lagos-33, Plateau-27, Kaduna-17, Ogun-6, FCT-4, Anambra-1, Ekiti-1 and Nasarawa-1; 56,478 confirmed 44,430 discharged 1,088 deaths”, the NCDC said in a statement.

On the global scene, there are now 29, 408,424 confirmed cases of Coronavirus, 931, 167 souls have died, while 19, 951,166 patients have been able to overcome the pandemic, the Centre for Systems Science and Engineering, Johns Hopkins University has said.

The United States remains the most hit of all countries affected by the virus reporting 6, 601, 337 all time cases, 195, 637 patients  have passed on while 2, 447, 942 others have been discharged, leaving the US with 3, 957, 758 active cases of the virus(55, 389 new cases), followed by India which has documented 4, 930,236 confirmed cases, 80, 776 people have been killed, while 3, 859, 399 others have survived the virus, leaving India with 990, 061 patients in need of medical attention to get back on their feet(83, 809 new cases) followed by Brazil, which has reported 4,345,610  all time cases, 132,006 patients have been killed by the virus, while 3, 798, 285 others have been discharged, leaving Brazil with 415, 319  patients to treat for the virus(15, 155 new cases).

Russia, the 4^th nation most affected by the virus has reported 1,069, 873 confirmed cases of Coronavirus, 18, 723 people have lost their lives, while 881, 693 others were delivered, leaving Russia with 169, 457 active cases of Coronavirus, followed by Peru, with 733, 860 all time cases, 30, 812 deaths and 573,364 recoveries, leaving Peru with 129, 684 patients hoping for the best to get back on their feet(4, 241 new cases), followed by Colombia which has documented 721, 892 confirmed cases, 23, 123 lives have been snatched by the virus, while 606, 925 others have been given clean bill of health, leaving Colombia with 91, 844 patients to treat for the virus(5, 573 new cases).

Mexico, which has been pushed to 7^th most affected nation has reported 671, 716 cases over time, 71,049 patients are no more, while 564, 053 others have been healed, leaving Mexico with 35, 614 active cases of the pandemic(3,335 new cases), followed by South Africa with  651, 521 confirmed cases of Coronavirus, 15, 641deaths and  583, 126 recoveries, leaving South Africa with 52, 754  patients needing medical attention to get back on their feet(1,728 new cases) and Spain with 603, 167 all time cases of the virus, 30,004 people afflicted by the virus have given up the ghost, while 150, 376 others have been discharged, leaving Spain with 422, 787 active cases of Coronavirus(9,437 new cases).

Argentina comes up as the 10^th nation worst hit by the pandemic,  with 565, 446 cases confirmed over time, 11, 710 deaths and 438, 883 recoveries, leaving Argentina with 114, 853 patients to treat for the virus(9,909 new cases), followed by Chile which has recorded 437, 983 cases over time,  12, 040 patients have lost their lives to the virus while 409,944 others have been able to overcome the pandemic and France, which has reported 433, 722  all time cases, 31,007 deaths, while 90, 816 patients are having cause to thank God for surviving the deadly pandemic, leaving France with 311, 899 patients to treat for Coronavirus(8,074 new cases).

Iran  has been pushed to the 13^th spot in the league of nations most hit by the pandemic, reporting 407,353 all time cases, 23, 453 patients have died from the virus, while 349, 984 others have been discharged, leaving Iran with 33, 916 all time cases of Coronavirus, followed by the United Kingdom which has reported 376, 668 cases over time, 41, 751 patients have died, while only 2, 156 patients  have been assisted to recovery, leaving the U.K with 332, 761 Coronavirus patients in need of medical attention to overcome the virus(3, 115 new cases) and  Italy, which currently stands as the 20^th nation most hit by the pandemic, reporting 289, 990 confirmed cases, 35, 633 patients have been killed by the pandemic, while 214, 645 others  have been healed, leaving Italy with 39, 712  patients to assist to recovery(1, 229 new cases).

China where the pandemic was first reported has been pushed to 39^th most affected country with 90, 223 all time cases,   4, 736 deaths while 85, 113 others are now healthy, leaving China with 374 cases  to battle with for Coronavirus.
