WASHINGTON, United States – Director, Federal Bureau of Investigation, Mr. Christopher Wray has named George M. Crouch, Jr. as the special agent in charge of the Newark Field Office. Mr. Crouch most recently served as the deputy assistant director in the Human Resources Division at FBI Headquarters in Washington, D.C.
Mr. George Crouch began his career as an FBI special agent in 1998 and was assigned to cover counterterrorism investigations in the New York Field Office. In 2002, he transferred to the Counterterrorism Division at FBI Headquarters, where he was one of the first members of the FBI’s Counterterrorism Fly Squad. George Crouch Jnr was promoted to a supervisory special agent in the Counterterrorism Division in 2003.
In 2006, he was promoted to serve as the supervisory senior resident agent of the Allentown Resident Agency of the Philadelphia Field Office, overseeing all FBI investigative activity in the Allentown area.
In 2010, George Crouch Jnr was promoted to assistant special agent in charge of the Cleveland Field Office. At different times, he led the counterterrorism, counterintelligence, human intelligence, technical, surveillance, intelligence, and administrative programs, and oversaw all matters in multiple resident agencies.
George Crouch was promoted in 2014 to section chief of the China Intelligence Section in the Counterintelligence Division at Headquarters. He was named deputy assistant director in the Human Resources Division in 2017. As the deputy assistant director, he oversaw all hiring, retention, transfers, benefits and compensation, promotions, medical, and retirements for FBI employees.
Mr. George Crouch earned a bachelor’s degree in criminology from the University of Northern Iowa and a Juris Doctorate from Southern Illinois University. Prior to joining the FBI, Mr. Crouch served in the U.S. Marine Corps.
