Coronavirus: Active cases down to 11, 580 in Nigeria, 21, 932 in Italy, 15, 108 in Chile, see top 12

LAGOS, Nigeria  – The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) has confirmed 296 new cases of Coronavirus in Nigeria, making a total of 53, 317 all time cases of the pandemic.

Out of the 53,317 confirmed cases, 40,726 patients have been discharged, while  1,011   others could not make it alive, leaving Nigeria with 11, 580 Coronavirus patients.

Breakdown of the new cases is as follows, Plateau-85, Enugu-46, Oyo-31, Lagos-21, Rivers-20, FCT-15,  Kaduna-13,  Bauchi-12,  Delta-11,  Ekiti-11,  Akwa Ibom-7, Ebonyi-6,  Kwara-5, Ogun-4, Osun-4, Gombe-3 and Niger-2, making a total of 296 new cases of Coronvirus.

Globally, there are  currently 24, 288,572 confirmed cases of Coronavirus,  828,070 deaths, while  15, 859,  542 patients have recovered, the Centre for Systems Science and Engineering, John Hopkins University, Maryland has said.

According to the centre, the United States remains the most affected country, reporting  5,859, 810 all time cases,  180, 523 deaths, while  2, 084, 465 patients have been discharged, leaving the U.S with 3, 594, 822 patients to treat for the pandemic(42, 272new cases), followed by Brazil which has documented 3, 717,156 all time cases of the virus,  117, 665 deaths, while  3, 082,  447 others have been discharged, leaving Brazil with 517, 044 patients to cater for(47, 161 new cases), followed by India which has documented 3, 310,234 confirmed cases of the pandemic,  60, 472 deaths, while 2, 523,771 patients have been given clean bill of health, leaving India with 725, 991 patients in need of attention for the Coronavirus pandemic(75, 760 new cases).

Russia is next with  972,972  all time cases, 16, 758 deaths, while  790,629  patients have been discharged, leaving Russia with 165, 585 patients hoping to stay alive in the hospital, followed by South Africa which has reported 618, 286 confirmed cases,  13, 628 deaths, while  531, 338 others have overcome the pandemic, leaving South Africa with 73, 320 patients to treat for the pandemic(2, 585 new cases), followed by Peru, which has confirmed  613, 378 all time cases,  28, 124 deaths,  while  421, 877 others have been saved, leaving  Peru with 163, 377 patients to  treat for the pandemic(5, 996 new cases), followed by  Mexico which has reported 573, 888 all time cases, 62, 076 deaths with  472, 197 recoveries, leaving Mexico with  39, 615  patients to help to  recover from the pandemic.

Colombia is next with  572, 243 confirmed cases of Coronavirus,  18, 184 deaths and  407, 114 recoveries, leaving Colombia with  146, 945 patients in need of assistant to recover from the pandemic(10, 130 new cases), followed by Spain, which has documented  429, 507 confirmed cases,  28,996 deaths, while  150, 376 patients have been given clean bill of health, leaving Spain with 250, 135 people to assist to get out of the pandemic(10, 658 new cases), and  then Chile with 404, 102 all time cases, 11,072 deaths over time and  377,922 recoveries, leaving Chile with  15, 108 Coronavirus patients(1, 737 new cases).

Argentina, 11^th  in the rank of most affected countries has confirmed  370, 188 all time cases,   7,944 deaths and  274, 458 recoveries,  leaving Argentina with 87, 786 patients to assist to be on their feet, followed by Iran with 367,796 confirmed cases, 21, 137 deaths, while 316, 638 others have been discharged, leaving Iran with 30, 021 patients in need of assistant to overcome the pandemic(2, 190 new cases) and then the United Kingdom, with  332, 491 all time cases of the pandemic, 41, 564 deaths, while only 1, 564 patients have been saved since the onset of the pandemic, leaving the United Kingdom with 289, 363 patients down with Coronavirus in the hospitals(1, 557 new cases).

France has been pushed to the 16^th  spot in the ranks of most affected countries with 297, 485 all time cases,  30, 581 deaths and  86, 271 recoveries, leaving France with 180, 633 patients hoping to survive the pandemic(6, 111 new cases), followed by  Italy in 19^th spot with  263, 949 confirmed cases,  35, 463 deaths over time while 206, 554 patients have been discharged, leaving  Italy with 21, 932 patients  in need of assistant to get over the pandemic(1, 409 new cases), and then China where the pandemic was first reported.

China(33) has reported  89, 805 all time cases of Coronavirus,  4, 715 deaths, while 84, 304 others have been discharged, leaving China with  786 active cases of the pandemic.
