LAGOS, Nigeria -The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) has confirmed 648 new cases of Coronavirus, bringing the total number to 41, 180 cases.
Out of the 41, 180 cases, 18,203 Nigerians have been discharged while 860 others could not make it alive, leaving Nigeria with 22, 117 active cases of the virus.
Breakdown of the new cases is as follows: Lagos-180, Plateau-148, Abuja-44, Ondo-42, Kwara-38, Rivers-32, Oyo-29, Kaduna-21, Osun-20, Edo-17, Ogun-17, Ekiti-11, Kano-9, Benue-9, Delta-9, Abia-9, Niger-7, Gombe-3, Borno-1, Bauchi-1 and Imo-1, making the 648 new cases of Coronavirus in Nigeria.

There are currently 16,360, 298 confirmed cases worldwide, 650, 553 deaths, while 9, 443, 262 others have recovered, the Centre for Systems Science and Engineering, Johns Hopkins University, Maryland has said.
According to the centre, the Unite States remains the most affected country, reporting 4, 276, 856 confirmed cases, 147, 303 deaths, (New York recording the highest casualty of 72, 716), while 1, 297, 863 others have recovered, leaving the U.S with 2, 831, 690 active cases(54,015 new cases in the last 24 hours).
Brazil is next with 2,419,091 cases, 87,004 deaths, while 1,812,913 others have recovered, leaving Brazil with 519, 174 active cases(24, 578 new cases in the last 214 hours), followed by India with 1, 435, 453 confirmed cases, 32, 771 deaths, while 917, 568 others have recovered, leaving India with 485, 114 active cases of the pandemic(49, 768 new cases in the last 214 hours), followed by Russia, which has documented 816, 680 cases, 13, 334 deaths, while 602, 249 Russians have recovered, leaving Russia with 201, 097 active cases of the pandemic.

South Africa is next with 452, 529 documented cases, 7,067 deaths, while 274,925 others have recovered, leaving South Africa with 170, 537 active cases(2,904 new cases), followed by Mexico with 395, 489 confirmed cases, 44, 022 deaths, while 299, 853 Mexicans have recovered, leaving the state with 51, 614 active cases of the pandemic(4, 973 new cases), followed by Peru, which has reported 375, 961 confirmed cases, 17, 843 deaths, while 267, 850 others have recovered, leaving Peru with 90, 268 active cases of the virus.
Chile is next with 347, 923 active cases, 9, 187 deaths, while 319,954 others have recovered, leaving Chile with 18, 782 active cases, followed by the United Kingdom which has documented 301, 705 confirmed cases, 45, 844 deaths, while only 1, 434 have recovered, leaving the U.K with 254, 427 active cases. Iran is next with 293, 606 confirmed cases, 15, 912 deaths, while 255, 144 others have recovered, leaving Iran with 22, 550 active cases of the pandemic.
Spain, the 12th most affected country has reported 272, 421 confirmed cases, 28, 432 deaths, while 150, 376 others have recovered, leaving Spain with 93, 613 active cases of the pandemic and then Italy in the 15th spot with 246, 286 confirmed cases, 35, 112 deaths, while 198,593 others have recovered, leaving Italy with 12, 581 active cases.
China where the pandemic was first reported has documented 86, 715 cases, 4, 654 deaths, while 80, 460 others have recovered, leaving China with 1, 601 active cases of the pandemic.
