Coronavirus in Nigeria: 661 new, 506 dead, Brazil 1,022 deaths in 1 day, see table
LAGOS, Nigeria -The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control(NCDC) has confirmed 661 new cases of Coronavirus in Nigeria, bringing the total number of confirmed cases to 19,808 cases in the country.
Out of the 19, 808 cases, 6, 718 people have recovered and subsequently discharged, while 506 others have died.
However, a breakdown of the 661 new cases showed that 230 were found Lagos, 127 in River, 83 in Delta, 60 in Abuja, 51 in Oyo, 31 in Edo, 27 in Bayelsa, 25 in Kaduna, 13 in Plateau, 6 in Ondo, 3 in Nasarawa, 2 in Ekiti, 2 in Kano and 2 in Borno, making a total of 661 new cases of Coronavirus in Nigeria.

Worldwide, there are currently 8, 750, 272 confirmed cases, while 463, 225 people have died based on the latest statistics from the Centre for Systems Science and Engineering, John Hopkins University, Maryland.
According to the centre, the United States still maintains the lead in the league of most affected countries in the world in terms of population affected and total number of deaths.
The United States has documented 2, 250, 240 confirmed cases with 119, 645 deaths, followed by Brazil, which has confirmed 1,032, 913 confirmed cases with 49, 976 deaths. There are no documented new cases in Brazil but 1,022 deaths in the last 24 hours trailed by Russia, the most affected country in Europe.
Russia has confirmed 576, 162 cases of Coronavirus while 7, 992 patients have passed on, followed by India with 395, 048 confirmed cases with 12, 948 deaths. Next is United Kingdom which has documented 304, 580 confirmed cases, while 42, 674 people have died and then Peru with 247,927 confirmed cases of Coronavirus, while 7,660 patients have died.
Spain is next with 245, 938 cases of the pandemic with 28, 322 deaths, followed by Italy which has reported 238, 275, with 34, 619 deaths and then China, now 21 in the rank of most affected countries.
China has documented 84, 525 confirmed cases, 4,639 deaths, while 79, 532 patients have recovered and subsequently discharged, leaving China with 354 cases, up by 13 new cases and 1 death in the last 24 hours.
