Coronavirus in Nigeria: 10,162 cases, 287 dead, see 5 most affected nations
LAGOS, Nigeria – The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control(NCDC) has confirmed 307 new cases of Coronavirus in Nigeria, bringing the total number of cases in the country to 10, 162 cases.
Out of the total 10, 162 cases, 3007 patients have recovered and subsequently discharged, while 287 others have passed on.
However, a breakdown of the 307 new cases show that 188 cases were found in Lagos , 44 in Abuja, 19 in Ogun, 14 in Kaduna,12 in Oyo, 9 in Bayelsa, 5 in Gombe, 3 in Kano, 3 in Delta, 2 in Imo, 2 in Rivers, 2 in Niger, 2 in Bauchi, 1 in Plateau and 1 in Kwara State, the NCDC said of the new cases of Coronavirus in Nigeria.

Worldwide, there are currently 6, 120, 740 confirmed cases of Coronavirus, while 371, 041 people have died of the pandemic going by the statistics released by the Centre for Systems Science and Engineering, John Hopkins University, Maryland.
According to the centre, the United States remains the most affected country in the world in terms of total population affected and the total number of deaths.
The United States has reported 1, 780, 897 confirmed cases with 104, 217 deaths, followed by Brazil with 498, 440 confirmed cases with 28, 834 deaths.
In Europe, Russia remains the most affected country in terms of population affected. Russia has reported 405, 843 confirmed cases with 4,693 deaths, followed by the United Kingdom which has suffered the highest casualty in Europe.
The U.K currently has 276, 156 confirmed cases of Coronavirus, while 38, 571 patients have passed on. Next to the U.K is Spain, which has reported 239, 479 confirmed cases of the pandemic, while 27, 127 patients could not make it alive.
Italy is the next most affected country in Europe, though it has recorded more deaths than Spain. Italy currently has 232, 997 confirmed cases of the virus with 33, 415 deaths.
China where the pandemic was first reported has been pushed down the ladder to the 17th most affected country just behind Saudi Arabia.
China has reported 84,130 confirmed cases, 4, 638 deaths, while 79, 387 patients have recovered and subsequently discharged, leaving China with 105 cases.
