LAGOS, Nigeria – The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) has confirmed 170 new cases of Coronavirus, bringing the total number of the pandemic in the country to 2,558.
But out of the 2, 558 confirmed cases, 400 patients have recovered and discharged while 87 have been confirmed dead.
According to the NCDC, of the 170 new cases, 39 were found in Lagos, 29 in Kano, 24 in Ogun, 18 in Bauchi, 15 in Kaduna, 12 in Abuja, 12 in Sokoto, 8 in Katsina, 7 in Borno, 3 in Nasarawa, 2 in Adamawa and 1 in Oyo State.

Globally, there are currently 3, 502, 126 confirmed cases with 247, 107 deaths based on statistics from the Centre for Systems Science and Engineering, John Hopkins University, Maryland.

According to the centre, the United States still leads among the most affected countries in terms of population affected and total number of deaths.
In the United States, there are currently 1, 156, 924 confirmed cases of the Coronavirus pandemic, while 67, 674 patients have died, followed by Spain which has reported 217, 466 confirmed cases, while 25, 264 patients have died.
Next among the most affected countries is Italy, which has reported 210, 717 confirmed cases of the pandemic with 28, 884 deaths, followed by the United Kingdom which now has 187, 840 confirmed cases with 28, 520 deaths.
