LAGOS, Nigeria – The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control(NCDC) has confirmed 338 new cases of Coronavirus in Nigeria, bringing the total number of confirmed cases in the country to 1594.
Out of the total confirmed cases of Coronavirus in Nigeria, 1594 patients have recovered and subsequently discharged, while 182 others died.
However, a breakdown of the 338 new cases showed that 177 new cases were discovered in Lagos, 64 in Kano, 21 in Abuja, 16 in Rivers, 14 in Plateau, 11 in Oyo, 9 in Katsina, 4 in Jigawa, 4 in Kaduna, 3 in Abia, 3 in Bauchi, 3 in Borno, 2 in Gombe, 2 in Akwa Ibom, 2 in Delta, 1 in Ondo, 1 in Kebbi and 1 in Sokoto.

Globally, there are however, 4,702, 603 confirmed cases, while 314, 476 patients have passed on based on figures released by the Centre for Systems Science and Engineering, John Hopkins University, Maryland.
According to the centre, the United States still leads among the most affected nations in the world in terms of death toll and population affected. The U.S currently has 1, 484, 804 confirmed cases of Coronavirus, while 89, 549 patients have been confirmed dead, followed by Russia, the most affected country in Europe based on the total number of people afflicted.

Russia has reported 281, 752 cases, while 2, 631 patients have died. The United Kingdom is the second most affected country in Europe based on the total population affected but the U.K has recorded the highest number of deaths in Europe, second only to the U.S.
The U.K currently has 244, 995 confirmed cases of the pandemic, while 34, 716 patients have died. Brazil has come into the picture as the 4th most affected country in the world in terms of population affected.
This home of soccer has reported 236, 131 confirmed cases with 16, 091 deaths, followed by Spain, which now has 230, 698 confirmed cases with 27, 563 deaths, followed by Italy which has reported 225, 445 confirmed cases while 31,908 patients have died of the pandemic.
China, where the Coronavirus pandemic started has been pushed into the 13th most affected nation in the world, reporting 84, 047 cases of the pandemic, 4, 638 deaths, while 79, 295 patients have recovered and subsequently discharged, leaving China with just 114 cases of the pandemic.
