Anambra police command calls for cooperation to enforce curfew
ONITSHA, Nigeria- Anambra State Police Command has advised residents of the state to co-operate with security agencies in the enforcement of the Federal government directives on the curfew beginning on Monday.
The command in a statement signed by its spokesman SP Haruna Mohammed and made available to journalists in Onitsha Anambra state said that the police and security agencies would make sure that people obey the directive.
The statement read in parts “the Anambra State Police Command wishes to inform the Public that following the directive of the Federal Government on commencement of nationwide curfew between 8pm to 6am with effect from Monday 4th May 2020,the command and other security agencies will enforce to the letter the presidential directive in the state”
According to the statement, in view of the foregoing, the command will seek the cooperation of “Ndi Anambra” and residents alike to adhere strictly with the Federal Government directive.

The command further stated that the Commissioner of Police CP John B.Abang equally warned Officers and Men of the Command to be civil to members of the public and also to exercise restraint by avoiding use of extreme measures while enforcing the order.
He reassured the people of State that the Command under his watch would remain steadfast and committed in the duty of ensuring public safety and security.
