LAGOS, Nigeria – The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control(NCDC) has confirmed 117 new cases of COVID-19, bringing the total number of confirmed cases in Nigeria to 782.

Out of the 117 new cases, 59 cases were seen in Lagos, 29 in Abuja, 14 in Kano, 6 in Borno, 4 in Katsina, 3 in Ogun, 1 in Rivers and1 in Bauchi. According to the NCDC, out of the 782 fresh cases, 197 patients have been treated and discharged while 25 people are dead.

Cases in Nigeria jumped to 782 just as the Centre for Systems Science and Engineering at John Hopkins University in Maryland says there are now 2, 565, 258 cases of COVID-19 worldwide while 177, 501 patients have died.

The United States has continued to maintain the lead in both deaths and number of infections. There are currently 825, 306 cases in the United States while 45, 075 people are dead.

Spains remains in the second place, reporting 204, 178 cases with 21, 282 deaths, followed by Italy which now reports 183, 957 cases with 24, 648 deaths. Next is France, with 159, 300 confirmed cases of COVID-19 with 20, 829 deaths, followed by Germany which currently has 148, 453 cases with 5,086 deaths.

The next most affected country in the world is the United Kingdom which now has 130, 184 confirmed cases with 17,338 deaths. Turkey has overtaken China and Iran in the number of infected people, reporting 95, 591 confirmed cases of COVID-19 with 2,259 deaths, followed by Iran with 84, 802 confirmed cases with 5, 297 deaths.

Next is China, which now sits as the 9th most afflicted country in the world, reporting 83, 864 confirmed cases with 4, 636 deaths.

  • You’re just posting new cases everyday, yet we did not see any of those cases picture and the area or local government in all the state you have been posted since, why? Don’t scam us we have tired of sitting down at home. No food, no money, no light, no water… Government do something about it..!
