COVID-19: Nigeria confirms 22 new cases as those in China drops to 1,915
ABUJA, Nigeria – The Nigerian Centre for Disease Control(NCDC) has confirmed 22 fresh cases of COVID-19 pandemic, bringing the total number of confirmed cases in Nigeria to 276.
The NCDC said that 15 of the 22 fresh cases were confirmed in Lagos, 4 in Abuja, 2 in Bauchi and 1 in Edo State. The NCDC added that 44 patients have been discharged while 6 patients are dead.
“Twenty-two new cases of #COVID19 have been reported in Nigeria: 15 in Lagos, 4 in the FCT, 2 in Bauchi, 1 in Edo As at 09:00pm 8th April there are 276 confirmed cases of #COVID19 reported in Nigeria. Fourty-four have been discharged with six deaths”, the NCDC said.
Meanwhile, 1, 504, 971 cases of the COVID-19 pandemic have been confirmed worldwide, with 87,984 deaths.
According to the Centre for System Science and Engineering at the John Hopkins University, the United States of America still leads the pack of nations most afflicted by the pandemic.

There are currently 424, 945 cases in the United States alone. The death toll in the United States has hit 15, 529. Out of the total number, only 23, 292 people have recovered from the hospitals.
China still reports 82, 809 confirmed cases of COVID-19, 3,337 deaths, while 77, 557 patients have recovered, leaving China with just 1, 915 cases of the COVID-19 pandemic.
