COVID-19: Nigeria confirms 14 fresh cases as 95,455 die globally

LAGOS, Nigeria – The Nigerian Centre for Disease Control(NCDC) has confirmed 14 new cases of the COVID-19 pandemic, bringing the total number of confirmed cases in Nigeria to 288.
In a statement, the NCDC said 13 of the new cases were discovered in Lagos and 1 in Delta State, making a total of 14 new cases but that out of the 288 confirmed cases, 51 patients have recovered and consequently discharged, while 7 patients have died since the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic in Nigeria’
“Fourteen new cases of #COVID19 have been reported in Nigeria: 13 in Lagos and 1 in Delta State As at 09:30 pm 9th April there are 288 confirmed cases of #COVID19 reported in Nigeria. Fifty-one have been discharged with seven deaths”, the NCDC said.

The NCDC released the figures just as 1, 587, 209 people have been infected globally with total death figures put at 95, 455, while 353, 291 patients have recovered based on what has been computed by the Centre for Systems Science and Engineering, John Hopkins University, in the United States.
So far, the United States remains the most afflicted country, reporting a total of 456, 828 confirmed cases of COVID-19 with 16, 478 deaths, while 25, 410 patients have recovered and consequently discharged.
Spain, the second most afflicted country is reporting 152, 446 confirmed cases with 15, 447 deaths while 52, 165 patients have recovered. Italy is reporting 143, 626 confirmed cases, with 18, 279 deaths while 28, 470 patients have recovered.

France is reporting 118, 781 confirmed cases with 12, 228 deaths, while 23, 413 patients have recovered. Next is Germany, which currently reports 116, 801 confirmed cases of COVID-19 with 2,607 deaths, while 52,407 patients have recovered and discharged.
China is reporting, 82, 883 confirmed cases with 3, 339 deaths while 77, 679 people have recovered and discharged while Iran has reported 66, 220 confirmed cases with 4, 110 deaths while 32, 309 patients have recovered and discharged.
