LAGOS, Nigeria – The Nigerian Centre for Disease Control(NCDC) has confirmed 114 new cases of Coronavirus in Nigeria, bringing the total number of cases in Nigeria to 1,095 cases.

Out of the 114 new cases, 80 were uncovered in Lagos, 21 in Gombe, 5 in Abuja, 2 in Zamfara, 2 in Edo, I in Ogun, 1 in Oyo, 1 in Kaduna and another 1 cases in Sokoto State, making a total of 114 cases.

However, out of the total 1,095 current cases in Nigeria, 208 patients have recovered from Coronavirus and subsequently discharged, while 32 patients could not make it alive.

“@NCDCgov 114 new cases of #COVID19 have been reported; 80 in Lagos, 21 in Gombe, 5 in FCT, 2 in Zamfara, 2 in Edo, 1 in Ogun, 1 in Oyo, 1 in Kaduna and 1 in Sokoto. As at 11:30 pm 24th April there are 1095 confirmed cases of #COVID19 reported in Nigeria. Discharged: 208, Deaths: 32”, the NCDC said.

Meanwhile the total number of cases confirmed globally has continued to increase. According to the Centre for Systems Science and Engineering, John Hopkins University, Maryland, there are currently 2, 790, 986 confirmed cases worldwide with 195, 920 deaths, with the United States still in the lead of countries with the most affected people and the highest number of deaths.

According to the centre, United States currently has 890, 524 confirmed cases of Coronavirus with 51,017 deaths, followed by Spain with 219, 764 confirmed cases with 22, 524 deaths, trailed by Italy with 192,994 confirmed cases with 25, 969 deaths, and then France with 159, 495 confirmed cases of the pandemic with 22, 278 deaths.

Next is Germany with 154, 545 confirmed cases with 5, 723 deaths, followed by United Kingdom, with confirmed cases put at 144, 635 cases with 19, 566 deaths. Next in the order of most affected countries is Turkey with 104, 912 confirmed cases of Coronavirus with 2, 600 deaths, followed by Iran with confirmed cases of 88, 194 with 5, 574 deaths and China with 83, 885 cases of the pandemic with 4, 636 deaths.

Next is Russia which now has 68, 622 cases of Coronavirus with 615 deaths.
