LAGOS, Nigeria – The Nigerian Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) on Monday night confirmed 64 additional cases of Coronavirus, bringing the total number of cases in Nigeria to 1, 337.

The NCDC stated that out of the 64 new cases, 34 were discovered in Lagos, 15 in Abuja, 11 in Borno, 2 in Taraba State and 2 in Gombe.

The NCDC added that out of the 1, 337 cases in Nigeria, 225 patients have been treated and discharged after recovery, while 40 people could not make it alive.

“64 new cases of #COVID19 reported; 34-Lagos, 15-FCT, 11-Borno, 2-Taraba and in 2-Gombe. As at 11:20pm 27th April- 1337 confirmed cases of #COVID19 reported in Nigeria. Discharged: 255, Deaths: 40” the NCDC said.

Meanwhile, the total number of confirmed cases worldwide has crossed the 3 million mark.

According to the Centre for Systems Science and Engineering, John Hopkins University, Maryland, there are now 3, 035, 177 confirmed cases of Coronavirus worldwide with 210, 611 deaths, with United States of America still leading in terms of population most affected and the total number of deaths.

The United States now has 985, 443 and 55, 952 deaths.
